Item Topic Discussion 1 Agenda & Discussion Notes Review
- ChairStatus/Discussion:
Decisions/Issues:
Action(s):2 PCD-03 error codes in Technical Framework and wiki page
- chairStatus/Discussion: - Technical Framework. has errors 25-33, those are missing from wiki
Decisions/Issues:
- Remove list from Wiki, add a link to the Technical Framework on the wiki page.
Action(s):
- Kurt to remove error code list from wiki and add a link to the Technical Framework.
3 Common generic drug identifier
- tbdStatus/Discussion: - Erica talked to FDB product manager most identifiers they use are proprietary. Many are combinations of name, concentration, etc.
Decisions/Issues:
- EMR vendors and pump vendors use different identifiers.
- Underlying identifier to identify the drug in the drug library is different from the drug name shown to users.
- May be multiple names and identifiers. Key thing may be the substance identifier.
- Need to come up with a common agreement on how to identify the drugs, - terminology set. Where is the master list. EMR or platform?
- Should use an identifier not the name, some drugs have the same name but different clinical indications.
Action(s):
4 Workflow steps for scenarios
- RayStatus/Discussion: - Workflow steps from Ray's email
- Customer is switching to a new to pump vendor, existing EMR
- List of all drugs for IV, concentrations
- Pharmacist either automatically/manually creates matching pump library
- Pharmacist enters limits, other pump specific items
- List of all drugs for IV, concentrations
- Existing pumps, new EMR
- Pharmacist lists all pump drug library drugs
- Use this list to create EMR IV Drug list
- OR
- Still create EMR drug formulary as usual?
- Use this list to create EMR IV Drug list
- Pharmacist lists all pump drug library drugs
- Customer is switching to a new to pump vendor, new EMR
- Similar to two scenarios above, need to determine which is master list.
- Existing customer upgrading pumps
- Pharmacist transfers existing pump drug library to new pump format (carries over limits)
- Extracts pump and hospital formulary - line by line compare
- If common drug name/ID this step is much easier
- Ongoing drug library maintenance
- Updating drugs
- Distill EMR formulary
- Distill Drug library
- Do a diff
- Updating drugs
- OR
- Automated message is sent when either DL is updated.
- Still need to create pump limits manually
- Automate otherwise?
- OR
- Study drugs being added to formulary/library
