Overview
HL7 Fast Health Interoperability Resources (FHIR) is an emerging standard based on RESTful architecture and web technologies that greatly simplifies the use of HL7 V3 to build applications. IHE PCD is monitoring the development of FHIR and especially device-related resources. This page details FHIR activities within the PCD.

HL7 FHIR Device-Related Resources White Paper
A white paper is being developed that will ...
- Review the rationale and basics of the FHIR standard
- Review the existing device-related resources (Device & DeviceObservationReport) and examples from previous FHIR Connectathons
- Examine ongoing development of device-related FHIR resources, including support for alarms and remote controls
- Review how FHIR technology may be integrated into the IHE PCD technical framework
- Provide recommendations and a roadmap for how the IHE PCD might integrate support for FHIR resources
