Technical Committee Checklist
- Are all significant CPs against the profile "closed"
- All BIR CPs below. See CP Tracking Spreadsheet
- CP-RAD-206 Incorporated
- CP-RAD-209 Incorporated
- CP-RAD-210 Cancelled
- CP-RAD-211 Incorporated
- CP-RAD-212 Rejected
- CP-RAD-337 Incorporated
- CP-RAD-519 Final Text
- Are all significant CPs against the underlying standards "closed"?
- Yes
- Have all significant comments been CP'd or rejected?
- Yes
- Have all open issues listed in the Supplement been closed?
- Yes
- Have all significant issues at Connectathon been dealt with?
- Yes
- Has the Connectathon Project Manager been queried and significant issues addressed?
- Lynn's recommendation is to deprecate the PDI/PMC/Basic Viewer portion in the BIR supplement, and move the rest to FT.
- BIR Implementers have indicated that PDI/PMC/Basic Viewer should be kept as-is. Thus Basic Viewer remains in BIR, but the Performance requirements have been removed via CP-RAD-519
Technical Committee Consensus
- RAD Tech agrees to move to Final Text as of April 2024
Planning Committee Checklist
- Has the profile been through a Connectathon in at least two regions?
- Yes

- Has the profile been successfully tested with all actors at least at one Connectathon?
- Yes. Notes:
- The BIR Image Display was successfully tested at the NA2012 and EU2012 Connectathons
- BIR IM (note that the BIR/IM has no BIR-specific requirements; just support of RAD-14/16 (Q/R)
- refer to Connectathon summary for Radiology profiles
- Have different implementations of each actor in the profile been tested?
- Yes, but limited Image Display testing
- Have all the options been tested successfully at at least one Connectathon?
- No. Basic Viewer option not tested.
- Lynn's recollection is that one year, probably around 2012, there was one vendor who thought they wanted to test the PDI/PMC/Basic Viewer option but at the Connectathon itself, it was immediately evident that the vendor had not read the requirements, and no testing was even attempted
- No. Basic Viewer option not tested.
- Are there IHE-provided software testing tools to address all aspects of the profile?
- Sort of.
- Requirements in BIR are best tested by observation and not software tools. David Clunie compiled a BIR-specific image set and detailed accompanying test plan that was used for BIR/ID Connectathon testing; good coverage of functionality, but not 100%. This is not a test tool but was proper method for supporting testing of profile requirements
- Have the standards underlying the profile been implemented? In similar use cases? In healthcare? In general IT?
- Yes
- (Do you have concrete reason to believe that this works robustly in the Real World) / (Are any products available for purchase that implement the profile?)
- Yes
- Radiology CD/DVD media burner vendors provided input to the technical committee regarding FT (and CP-RAD-519) during a call held June 2023
- Have all issues that may have been raised about the profile been resolved?
- Yes
- Has there been sufficient interest in the profile to generate a one-page overview of the profile
- Yes, see Basic Image Review
