Keith W. Boone is a Standards Architect for GE Healthcare. He has been a member of IHE, and HL7 for the last seven years, and has over 25 years of experience in software development, with an extensive background in XML-based standards. He is presently active in Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE), HL7, HITSP, and ISO standards efforts. He co-chairs the IHE Patient Care Coordination (PCC) Planning Committee, and is a member of the IT Infrastructure (ITI) planning committee, and PCC Technical Committee. Keith is co-editor the following IHE profiles: Cross Enterprise Document Sharing (XDS), Notification of Document Availability (NAV), Medical Summaries (XDS-MS), Exchange of PHR Content (XPHR)Basic Patient Privacy Consents (BPPC), Query for Existing Data (QED) and Request for Clinical Guidance (RCG) profiles.

At HL7 he is co-chair of the Structured Documents Working Group and participates in the Patient Care Technical, Claims Attachments and Clinical Decision Support committees. He contributed to the development of CDA Release 2.0, and was an editor for the HL7 Care Record Summary (CRS), the ASTM/HL7 Continuity of Care Document (CCD), and the current release of the HL7 Claims Attachments specifications (AIS), and participated in the development of several other HL7 CDA Implementation Guides.

He is also cochair of the ANSI/HITSP Care Management and Health Records Domain TC and the Data Architecture Tiger Team, and participates in standards activities with ASTM, ISO and Continua.
