Radiology Vocabulary Registry and Data Dictionary


This page lists various vocabularies and data dictionaries that are under the control of the RadiologyCommittee. Please do not edit this without coordinating your activity with the RadiologyCommittee. It is supposed to be a safe reference for currently assigned terms, etc. Some terms should not be assigned permanent values here until after the Radiology profile documentation is complete.

Coded Terminology

These codes are the controlled vocabulary name "urn:ihe:rad".

Code Value Default Code Meaning Definition
SOLE50 Appointment Resource Role: The passive participant with this role is an appointment identification.
SOLE51 Location of Event Role: The passive participant is the location at which an event has taken place
SOLE52 Location Assigned Role: The passive participant is the location for which an event has been assigned or planned.
SOLE53 Physician sending notification Role: A physician that sends a critical notification
SOLE54 Physician accepting notification Role: A person that receives a critical notification
SOLE55 Human Scheduler Role: A person that schedules exams and resources
SOLE56 Admitting Staff Role: A person that handles patient admissions
SOLE57 Transport Role: A person responsible for transporting patients.
SOLE58 Order Placer Role: A system that accepts and manages orders
SOLE59 Order Filler Role: A system that manages order fulfillment
SOLE60 Automatic Scheduler Role: A system that automatically schedules exams and resources
SOLE61 Automatic Admitting System Role: A system that lets patients automatically handle admission.
SOLE62 EMR Role: A system that manages electronic medical records for an organization
SOLE63 PACS Role: A system that manages images and associated data for an organization
SOLE64 RIS Role: A system that maanges information flow and operations for an imaging department
SOLE65 Imaging Workstation Role: A system used for viewing images and related functions such as reporting.
SOLE66 Image Archive Role: A system used for archival storage of images and associated data.
SOLE67 Imaging Operational Event Event: An imaging event defined for reporting or tracking.
SOLE101 Order Filed The procedure is scheduled.
SOLE102 Patient Arrived at Imaging The patient checks-in at modality waiting area for the exams.
SOLE103 Resource Assigned A resource, e.g., a specific imaging machine, device, or imaging specialist, is assigned to a procedure.
SOLE105 QC Repeat Imaging Complete Repeat images are acquired to replace images rejected by QC. The rejection is a separate event QC Reject RID28816.
SOLE106 Crit 2 Notification Closed A category 2 finding (actionable in hours) is communicated to a physician taking care of the patient.

SOLE112 Exam requested, e.g., priors An exam transfer has been requested, e.g., to transfer a prior exam from PACS to an analysis system.
SOLE113 Exam transferred, e.g., priors An exam transfer request, e.g., to transfer a prior exam from PACS to an analysis system, has been completed.
SOLE114 Post-processing step started, e.g., CAD A post processing step subsequent to data acquisition has started. This may be on the acquisition modality or another system.
SOLE115 Post-processing step completed, e.g., CAD A post processing step subsequent to data acquisition has completed. This may be on the acquisition modality or another system.
