  • Attendees: Nichole Drye Mayo, Lori Fourquet, Johanna Goderre, Christina Lachance, Eric Larson, Karen Peacock, John Stamm, Antonio Jesus

  • The group discussed the draft list of variables to be included in the RFD, known problems with certain concepts (e.g., Payer, Smoking, Income, Insurance type, Race/Ethnicity), and coding conventions (e.g., Yes/No vs. Date for a screening variable, multiple payers per visit). Some issues are being solved by other profiles or entities (HL7 spec or LOINC code set for smoking questions). Recommendations included avoiding free text variables, using existing value sets, making fields optional where appropriate, noting what is required for Title X vs. what is broadly useful more. We will develop a list of all preferred variables (within the context of US and international standards and quality metrics) and then EHR vendor advisors in the group will help vet what is not possible.

  • Lisa and Lori may have additional recommendations for mapping procedure, service, and medication codes across multiple value sets.

  • This RFD will not require new transactions or actors. Actors will only be form receiver, filler, and manager. The form filler may require pulling data about name, DOB, etc. for the FP RFD. Security should be described for volume 2 but not much else should be needed. Document sharing is not anticipated. Vol 3 will not require a new content module but should describe what would be done with a CCD summary since that is anticipated for the future (e.g., mapping to CDA, any rules.) Components from FP anticipated for a CCD summary include HIV labs, dx, CPT, counseling and education. The HW supplement has good examples for FP in: problem list, procedures & interventions, vital signs, payers, pregnancy status, household income, coded results (labs like HIV), medical summary for pre-pop to content module.

  • References of HL7 or IHE work should be done at the top and, where appropriate, in the text. Drafts for volumes 2-4 should begin in late Dec/early Jan due to approaching deadlines.
