Minutes

  • Introductions.
  • Overview of IHE processes – explanation of the IHE publication cycles.
  • Discussion of profiles

Mother and Child Health Profile - Dr. Charles Rica, Michelle Williamson, Hetty Khan

  • Profile published in 2009 was reviewed by Michelle Williamson and by Hetty Khan from CDC Vital Records. Michelle filled out a comment sheet which was integrated in the MCH profile by Dr. Charles Rica. National extensions will be described in a separate chapter, (especially if applied to national projects such as HITSP or epSOS.) Waiting for the content of C 170 - Vital Records Pre-Populate Component.
  • Redaction Services Profile - Landen Bain
  • This profile describes a mechanism to filter the data before being pushed out from an EHR to a Research centre based on various protocols. This can be extended to Quality and Public Health. There is an idea for role-based access which seems very interesting. It must be noted that this is an extraction specification and not a redaction specification (the “filtered”) data does not make it out of the system. Redaction Services could be nested into the RPE profile. Still to do:
    • Landen is asking for input form Public Health
    • Amit will help with the volume 2 – organization and semantics.
    • Volume 1: Options and grouping
    • Analyze if we need more use cases in Volume 1 – input from EDHI or Public Health Cancer Registry.

Amit proposes a way to tailor this to Public Health as a general use case, and not case by case. Although this profile is used more in research, it can be applied to Public Health Cases as well.

Processing Change Proposals Please see the complete list of the change proposals at: QRPH_Change_Proposal_Master_List. CP's were renamed but not assigned authors yet.

Brainstormin activity - Planning - Connectathon and Showcase Profile Participation, Outreach Activites

  • RPE – most likely to go to the Connectathon (it would be useful to see how Quality fits into it). Need some context planning, not just straight implementing, need to do a bit more preparatory work in order to be ready to implement. This work can be done via the Googgle group meetings. Need more depth to the scenarios.
  • Public Health – Cancer Registry good candidate for Public Health demonstrations. EDHI is also a potential candidate that could be used with the Redaction Services scenario. Redaction can also be used with the DSC profile.
  • Reach out to AHRQ (Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality).
  • Demonstration of CRD and DSC with FDA.
  • New Born Screening - Laboratory Part – having difficulties to get vendor uptake, it would be nice to get involvement in a showcase laboratory vendors.
  • MCH profile - can be a candidate for the Connectathon, depending how far the profile advances and how far the C 170 will get.
  • Diabetes White Paper had a lot of attention showing a link to PCC, namely the Care Management.
  • Biosurveilance and Public Health Alerting (such as H1N1) – need to see how this can be demonstrated at the showcase and show how it is tied to the infrastructure
