Attachments / Materials
- <add attachments links here>
- Purpose: EMR can send limits specific to an individual patient order which can override pump drug library limits
- CP needed: add descriptive text to PIV in TF to include order limits as optional functionality 2 use cases:
- • Limits entered by provider at order entry
- • Limits from drug or order configuration in EMR
- • 0 to 4 limits may be present in a PCD-03 message (0-1 of each term)
- New terms:
- MDCX_ORDER_LOWER_HARD_LIMIT
- MDCX_ORDER_LOWER_SOFT_LIMIT
- MDCX_ORDER_UPPER_SOFT_LIMIT
- MDCX_ORDER_UPPER_HARD_LIMIT
- Example:
- OBX|1|NM|9999^MDCX_ORDER_UPPER_HARD_LIMIT^MDC|1.1.1.1.|25|8888^MDC_blob_per_kg^MDC
- F2F discussion
- New limits would further constrain the existing limits, would only apply to dose limits, not concentration, times etc,

Item Topic Discussion 1 Agenda & Discussion Notes Review
- ChairStatus/Discussion:
Decisions/Issues:
Action(s):2 PIV Order limits from EMR
- ChairStatus/Discussion: - Questions:
- Baxter- What is the scenario where this would be used.
- Cerner- on order side physician will build out the order. Could pull in titration limits for an order, would not be filled out each time.
- For basic orders (outside the library) limits could be provided.
- If EMR could send the entire order over, there wouldn't be any issues with drug library alignment.
- Would not use library for pump programming orders, only for manual programming.
- Baxter- What is the scenario where this would be used.
Decisions/Issues:
- Defer order limits discussion to consider at a future date.
Action(s):
- Add to Actions items list
3 Common library terms for synchronization
- ChairStatus/Discussion: - Basic Info to Share between EHRs and Library Software:
- DrugRecordID – GUID (each Name, Concentration, Advisory combiniation)
- CommonID - RxNorm, NDC code, GUID
- Name – Common Drug Name
- Concentration - unreduced drug amount and volume
- Advisory
- Care Are/Unit/Ward
- Potential Options:
- InfusionSetupID – GUID (each protocol that references a DrugRecordID would have one of these)
- DrugRecordID
- Rate/Dose
- DosingUnits
- LOWER_HARD_LIMITs
- LOWER_SOFT_LIMITs
- UPPER_SOFT_LIMITs
- UPPER_HARD_LIMITs
Decisions/Issues:- How do we envision this working. Is it a common format that we write conversion tools for.
Action(s):- For June 25 propose scenarios and work flows for mapping
4 Next Meeting
