Discussion
Steve summarized last week’s progress.
Utilization Use Case:
- - Carlene summarized work at Christiana care, integrating infusion pumps with location. They receive pump status and process status. Pump status (in use, dirty, etc.) and process status (infusing, standby, stopped, etc.) accompany location. AwarePoint’s systems include an accelerometer to indicate movement, at a faster rate for tracking people than tracking devices. Steve asked for a storyboard that will indicate the benefits of implementing interoperable location services. Manny to send an email asking the pump vendors to send pump start, pump stop data to AwarePoint and AwarePoint to send utilization information to EQ2. Carlene will explore supporting multiple pumps.
Device Battery Alarm:
- - John Rhoads will be able to send a battery alarm (AR), Al can send a different alarm and IPEC. Manny to send email to EQ2, others.
Posters:
- - Steve asked for volunteers to develop posters. John Rhoads and Steve offered to contribute. Al noted there is an alarm poster that can be used or modified.
- - Manny to request contributions.
Handout:
- - Steve indicated a handout will be developed afterward.
Developing the Profile:
- - Profile development will proceed after the F2F. Monroe described the process referring to the PPT he distributed. He provided detailed information on messaging for the demonstration and for profile development.
Demonstrations:
- - Device condition messages could be included in HIMSS14 and tested at the Connectathon.
- - AAMI 2014 could include a distributed demonstration on the exhibit hall floor.
- - Posters at AAMI 2013 for PCD member companies indicating participation in the IHE PCD and referring to the demonstration in the HIMSS booth.
