Action(s):

2 2013 N A Connectathon
- Manny
Status/Discussion:

Announcement:

- There is a one day Connectathon Conference during the week of testing. This may be of interest to marketing folk and others. More information at the Connectathon web site, www.iheusa.org.

Pre-Connectathon Testing:

- There is a Google Group devoted to test tool development and issues. Participants were encouraged to join.
- Some have not yet begun this process. There have been some issues with the tool.
- Some additional parameters will be added, specifically for pulse oximetry.
o A contingency plan is required if Covidien and Masimo are not able to complete and test the AR actor. Capsule and iSirona should be contacted by Covidien and Masimo to address this.
- Lynn Felhofer will provide a Webex devoted to virtual testing. While much has been discussed in these meetings, in the Excel workbook, and available elsewhere the webinar may be worthwhile.

Virtual/Internet Testing

- Participants are strongly encouraged to test with potential partners in advance of the Connectathon.

Connectathon

- Participant Excel Workbook
o Manny indicated that Baxter, Covidien, Masimo will test the AR actor.
o Manny again requested updating the contact tab, indicating its usefulness in Pre-

Connectathon and Connectathon testing.

- Manny described aspects of the Connectathon process for those who haven’t participated in the past, noting that test partners are determined in part as they become available.
- Lynn has requested networking specifics. These will be used in the Showcase as well.
- Manny indicated that participants need to make sure that potential test partners will support the parameters they intend to test.

Decisions/Issues:

Action(s):

3 2013 Showcase
- Manny
Status/Discussion:
- ip addresses: If more are required for the Showcase than for the Connectathon please submit them as part of the Connectathon requirements (see above).
- Scripts: Bullet points/concepts developed this month will be helpful. Masimo will lead development of scripts for the use case (14) that includes their presence in the med-surg area.
o Volunteers are sought for script development for all walls. 2011 scripts are on the ftp site.
- Walls: Participants are asked to confirm that they are represented where they should be.
o The locations shown in these drawings do not represent the sequence in which they will be discussed.
o The actual locations will be finalized on site, and updates may be issued as the scripts are developed.
o Participants were again asked to provide device/system dimensions and electrical requirements. Wall dimensions depend up these dimensions and additional electrical cannot be added after the walls are erected.
o The sketches were reviewed, having been distributed in advance of the meeting.
o We have requested permission to use 32” monitors. Manny will check on their availability for rental from Freeman.
- Tours: Manny described the tours for the benefit of those who hadn’t participated in the past and indicated the importance of the scripts. He noted that PCD is only a part of the tour and it is incumbent upon PCD to make sure that we communicate the significance of the PCD profiles. The scripts will be part of the rehearsal taking place on Saturday in Chicago.
- Parameters and alarms: Sue asked if these were defined. Monroe indicated that bed alarms were used in the past. Manny added that there are multiple possibilities, with only one shown in any one tour. The alarm from the SpO2 monitors may be the most impressive because of the JCAH sentinel event. While only one may be shown in a tour, rotation among them in different tours is a possibility. Also, between tours an interested visitor may be shown additional alarms, features, with the desire that IHE, PCD are important parts of the discussion. Visitors are supposed to be referred to exhibit hall booth or other venue for information about your device/system.
- Rob indicated that display monitors are included in the registration fee. Manny will check on this.
- Ancillary Devices:
o PCA pumps are needed for the two med-surg areas.
