Decisions/Issues:

Action(s):

2 2012 N A Connectathon
- Manny
Status/Discussion:

Discussion of potential ADQ tests:

- There was a desire to provide fewer tests in the actual Connectathon than in the NIST testing or the Virtual/Internet Pre-Connectathon tests. This helps make ADQ testing a reasonable addition without crowding out other tests.
o For Pre-Connectathon and NIST testing address all use cases; for Connectathon use two patients to reduce the time required to test.
- This profile in concept appears to be similar to a PDQ query in terms of filter approach.
- We need to check to learn if wildcard is for all data or only on that specific nursing unit. Note that Table 3.1.41-4 shows that Patient Location (PL) null indicates that all patient locations are intended.
- Will need at least one archiver, one query system; each can be a: gateway, EMR or CIS.
o An informal request to learn which of those companies represented in the meeting are interested in implementing and testing in this cycle indicated that only Epic is considering this for this cycle.
o Discussion raised questions about which systems would implement queries and which would implement responses. E.g., a gateway could operate as an archiver and an EMR would query for higher resolution data; similarly, a gateway could query an EMR. John Garguilo noted that the use of an archiver in the profiles definition does not limit its role/participation.
- QAK to manage size and query with sampling rate are low priority for testing at this time.
- John Garguilo suggested that we not attempt full scale testing in the first cycle, rather select the highest priority tests and have placeholders for those that will be implemented and tested next year.
o Manny will develop test steps for the group to review.
o Participants were asked to suggest additional tests they would want to have when they implement this profile.
o Participants will review the test steps and suggest improvements and help define priorities for this cycle.
- John noted that NIST cannot promise to develop all tests defined in this cycle.

Decisions/Issues:

Action(s): Manny to draft test steps.
