This was a special meeting with the IDCO WG to review the existing Connectathon tests and describe desired changes.

The summary was provided by Stephen Swanson (with minor edits included here):

Summary: Item #1: Connectathon tests for 2013.

- We currently have a basic set of connection tests with limited parameters.
- Discussion on extending this with more realistic tests, perhaps as optional tests.
- Optional tests are not publiced.
- Another option would be to run these as internet tests.
Having these extended tests may help increase interest among EMR vendors to attend and be active in the Connectathon tests. Can we leverage these to be the HIMSS showcase. These would need to be highlighted as a work in progress (if not in the profile).
Current tests do not specify how the data is presented. We would need to be careful to not constrain the vendors with these new tests.
Within the current IDCO profile we could incorporate trended data items. Add ORU’s with different date/time stamps.
Question: Does the device remember historical values? Can they be sent out appropriately?
Current implementations are not expecting trended information to be contained in the message. EMR vendors would need to update their systems to expect (or not) trended data.
Manny: Other options for delivery are Waveform (WCM) or asynchronous ADQ. ADQ looks at retrospective data.
Connectathon:
- Gene: Can we have a better method to capture the actual test success (other than Wireshark)? There was no capturing the display of data to show a truly successful result.
- Steve: Need to increase our minimum number of parameters required.
Optional tests:
- Need to keep the PDF tests optional. Vendors can choose what to send (one or the other or neither). EMRs can choose not to accept.
- PV1 needs to remain optional because the implanted devices may only know the device model/serial number but nothing contained in PV1 about the patient.
Alex: Can we support the individual EGM with Episode link? This was one of the updates that went through the latest IHE profile update. CP 08600
Gene: Need to keep in mind that for required tests we need 3 vendors and 3 EMR companies.

Action Item: create test for EGM and Episode information (2 weeks) John Gargiolo needs to be included in the final discussion as the NIST.

Action Item: Need to define the new list of parameters (End of July).
