The Problem

Many applications require non-device specific information, such as configuration (e.g., hardware / software serial numbers and revision levels), event logs, battery information, mechanical configuration (e.g., modules that may be plugged in or removed), etc. This content profile should be consistent across all device specializations so as to enable mostly non-clinical applications that require this information.
