XD* Metadata uses

  • Presented by Charles Perisot
  • XD* Metadata is being used around the world and resulting in tweaks from the initial design
  • Is there something IHE USA should do to assist in these deployments that would support consistency?
  • Problem is once deployed at a large scale and XDS/XCA based project, it's not easy to chage its metadata specification
  • Suggestion - IHE White paper to propose a good initial set of metadata for people to use with mapping to standard vocab. This would be a best practice guide and the first step. Need to address what people metadata needs are;
  • Proposal - start with appendix B from DAF (XCA/XCPD) with a few US specific points; gain support from CareQuality in their ner Query specifications (based on XCA/XCPD); Derive from DAF Appendix B Trial Implementation an IHE ITI CP for the 98% international; have this done by October so that is can be referenced.
  • Issues encounter: Technical metadata sometimes have no meaning to the providers. One other thing IHE can do is clean up codes.xml or don't go to Connecthathon. Connecthathon tools need to be ready by Oct 1, 2015.
  • Questions to PCC is is it worth doing? what is the process route to get this done?
