Domain Coordination Issues
- PaLM - data element registry (Riki)
- PaLM discussed the need for a data element registry, to ensure that semantic meaning of exchanged content (or even of recorded content) is well defined and reproducible for proper understanding within and across organizations and can be used as building blocks to define clinical pathways, decision support rules etc.
- RTMMS – PCD uses Rosetta Terminology Mapping Stone (maintained by NIST) – review that as starting John Garguilo at NIST might help (good for semantic transactions – also can be tested) – attribute identification and units of measure and enumeration
- Suggestion to look into DEX by QRPH
Documentation, Websites and Public Information
- IHE Pharmacy Update:
- Publishing of Volume 1 with an empty Volume 2 (while we do not have templates for the content, or the base standards are not ready)
- Discussion on the FHIR exchange: messaging, workflow, tasks, etc... and how this impacts our need to profile those transactions..
- Need to profile content, can profile workflow- would want to work with ITI to identify transport mechanisms.
- ITI defines a base profile with transit method
- Specify mechanism (reference XDS or MHD ‘here’, etc.)
- ITI created Appendix Z that contains a description of how to use FHIR - currently available for public comment
- Have white paper explaining supply (barcode, lot numbers expiry day, product, box, couple of use cases = recalling stocks, patient related supply etc.) - 80 pages
- Defining architecture – order management – delivery management – inventory management – recall managing – barcode processing – do not yet have content for Vol2, so publish white paper to get more awareness; planning on long period for trial implementation
- Cannot implement to a white paper – would not yet publish the Vol 1 – will publish a second white paper – this is informative – nothing to be tested
Need to also bring up transactions to HL7 where we need new transactions (FHIR and V2)
