IHE Laboratory addresses information sharing and workflow related to in vitro diagnostic testing in clinical laboratories as well as on the point of care.
IHE Laboratory was formed in 2003, and is sponsored by the Groupement pour la Modernisation du Système d'Information Hospitalier (GMSIH), the Société d'Informatique de Laboratoire (SFIL) and JAHIS and manages the Laboratory Profiles and the Laboratory Technical Framework, which currently specifies 6 Profiles in the Final Text status, shown with their interdependencies in the figure below.

Current Activity
The Laboratory Committee is collecting new supplement proposals until October 31st. One supplement - the Inter Laboratory Workflow - has already been approved during last face to face meeting in June, and is in the building phase
