HIMSS 14 Showcase Lessons Learned:
Settings:
- Were appropriate to the devices and systems
- Sidewalls worked and were well integrated in the clinical story begun on the build out wall
- Graphics – no comments during call; comment received earlier was positive with exception to the ED build out wall considered a bit too busy
- Conflicting placement – no comments received
Clinical Stories:
- Were relevant to the devices and systems
- Appropriate detail
- Appropriate length
- Appropriate reference to the benefits of IHE interoperability
Speakers:
- One or several – several worked well – but need wireless microphones because of difficulty with wire
New Directions
- Traffic – more walk-in traffic, possibly not more on tours
- Patients on the floor – very helpful, generated traffic in New Directions
- New Directions next year – attempt to find common messages among the various tours - consider ways to coordinate tours of multiple vignettes within the same space next year
- The DMC, LS had walk ins, but not extremely busy
- Next Year – what might PCD have? It’s too early to discuss.
Props
- Worthwhile (e.g., pump adjacent to chemo chair)
Showcase Overall
- We will need to find ways to accommodate growth in number of systems
- Integrating DMC, LS with clinical scenarios next year
