Roadmap
- IHE Eye Care Year 1 - Focus is to initiate IHE Eye Care, building upon basic profiles of workflow, charge posting and evidence reports and begin introducing this to the vendor and user community.
- IHE Eye Care Year 2 - Focus is on building upon the beginning efforts and expand participation of vendors, particularly acquisition modalities. One new profile was added, Eye Care Displayable Reports, to enhance the usability to users.
- IHE Eye Care Year 3 - Focus is on expanding participation of vendors, particularly electronic health record systems, to build critical mass in IHE Eye Care and building up physician/user understanding of the needs for IHE/interoperability
- IHE Eye Care Year 4 - Focus is on expanding participation of vendors and building upon the awareness/education of the physicians and by expanding usage of IHE Eye Care by extending the Framework to include a new actor, Legacy Acquisition Modality Importer, which allows physicians to use their existing devices, instead of having to purchase new devices.
- IHE Eye Care Year 5 - Focus is on continuing to expand participation of vendors, both acquisition modality vendors, legacy acquisition modalities, and electronic health record systems to reach a critical mass. Work in future years will be to build in more Information Technology Infrastructure profiles into the Technical Framework.
