CONNECTATHON - NORTH AMERICA 2009
Each Patient Identity Source has an assigning authority that is expressed as an OID. There are values that are used by the Connectathon MPI systems and values that are used by participants when they create patient identifiers. You need to use the proper value when you submit a document to an XDS (a or b) registry. That typically means you perform a PIX or PDQ query to get the right identifier and the right value for Assigning Authority.

The Project Managers have defined these values:

Master and Local values
The MASTER assigning authority used in all Connectathon and HIMSS Affinity Domains. IHENA 1.3.6.1.4.1.21367.2005.3.7
A LOCAL assigning authority for those that cannot create their own A04 messages IHELOCAL 1.3.6.1.4.1.21367.2009.1.2.335
