Comments from Karen Witting below:

  • I think this page should have a new title: Working with MS Word on IHE Technical Framework documents. Or combine it with "Writing TEchnical Frameworks", which is currently empty. I don't know what the difference between this section and that section would be.
  • Other subjects to add to this page:
    • How to do section numbering? Should automatic numbers be used? Since supplements are non-continuous numbers many times the section numbering is manual, and that manual numbering transfers to the TF when integrated. Is there guidance for the right way to deal with this?
    • Any guidance on references? Often references are done manually, which creates a headache when they are moved? Should they be manual or automatic? What format is used?
    • References across TF, like from PCD documents to ITI documents. Or from a Vol. 1 TF to Vol. 2, etc. ITI uses the format: ITI TF-1:18.2.1 for ITI Vol. 1 section 1.18.2.1. Is that the same format as all domains use?
    • How to handle "skipped" sections in a TF. For instance a section that is reserved for a profile which remains in Trial Implementation for several years. As profiles with higher assigned section numbers are integrated that section seems skipped, which can be confusing to the readers. Should that section say skipped on purpose or skipped because it is reserved for xyz profile? Or just skip it without explanation.
