Scope

The developement of the 3D/4D Echo Whitepaper consist of two major work items:

  • Develop clinical use cases for the use of 3D/4D Echo togehter with clincal members of the planning committee, focussing on workflow aspects like the handoff between Sonographer and Cardiologist
  • Work with DICOM Committees (especially W12 - Ultrasound and WG11 - Display) in order to work on missing but in the context of 3D/4D Echo necessary functionality from the DICOM side:
    • 3D Presentation State
    • Support for 3D measurement in the Echocardiography SR templates (TID 5200 und 5300)

Target Milestones

  • Coordination with WG12
    • Dec. 2009 Coordination with DICOM WG12
    • DICOM Workitem for 3D presentation state (if not covered by current WG11 activity)
  • White Paper:
    • Identify major use cases
    • Discuss and agree on major use cases with clinical community
    • Initial draft of white paper
    • Clinical review of white paper
    • Technical Committee review of white paper
    • White Paper ready for public comment
    • Finalization of public comment
