IHE Domain Webpage for Radiation Oncology (www.ihe.net/radiation_oncology/)

  2. "1-2 paragraphs" Brief overview of scope of domain, ie, what clinical/operational/technical infrastructure areas it addresses, types of systems that would typically implement such profiles
  3. List of published Profiles - Name, Acronym & One-line Description for each Profile
  4. Each Profile Name in the list is a link to a Profile Webpage.
  5. Keep the Domain Description short enough that the top of the Profile List is visible when you first go to the Domain Webpage.
  6. Feel free to group your profiles if you have a lot. Don't have to group. Group names are not Normative, just helpful.
  7. Develop Profile List on the Wiki for each Domain http://wiki.ihe.net/index.php?title=Profiles
  8. Each Domain Planning Committee responsible for maintaining the list on the Wiki
  9. Review/Update list every year (as new Profiles are added in Trial Implementation or Final Text)
  10. Sponsor responsible for establishing Domain Webpage and periodically migrating the Wiki list to the Web.


IHE Radiation Oncology

IHE Radiation Oncology was formed in 2004 to address issues of interoperability and information sharing that impact the quality of care in radiation oncology. It has developed and documented standards-based solutions to these problems and organized testing and education to foster their adoption. IHE solutions are now available in many of the commercial radiation oncology-related treatment delivery, planning, and information systems, and are implemented in care sites around the world.

IHE Radiation Oncology Profiles

IHE Radiation Oncology integration profiles include:
Normal Treatment Planning-Simple (NTPL-S) illustrates flow of treatment planning data from CT to Dose Review for basic treatments.
Multimodality Registration for Radiation Oncology (MMR-RO) shows how radiation oncology treatment planning systems integrate PET and MRI data into the contouring and dose review process.
Treatment Workflow (TRWF) integrates daily imaging with radiation therapy treatments using workflow.

Radiation Oncology Planning and Technical Committees

The IHE Radiation Oncology Planning and Technical Committees are responsible for developing IHE integration profiles and planning deployment activities, such as testing events and educational programs, in the domain of radiation oncology. The committees are composed of users and developers of radiation oncology planning, delivery, and information systems. The membership of these and other IHE domain committees, along with schedules of activities, meeting agendas and minutes and working documents can be found on the IHE Wiki at http://wiki.ihe.net/index.php?title=Committees.
