New terms Proposed new term for PCD-01/-10: MDCX_DRUG_IS_IN_LIBRARY · Boolean value indicating if the currently programmed drug is in the drug library · If not present, assumed to be unknown · Rationale: Manually programmed drugs will always be in the drug library, but auto-programmed drugs may not be if they are experimental or the drug library has not been updated to include the new drug(s). It is important to know if drugs outside of the library are being administered, since those drugs will not have limits enforced. In addition, reporting if the drug is in the drug library will allow the EMR to monitor alignment between their formulary and the drug library. · Proposed new value for MDC_PUMP_PROGRAM_COMPLETION_MODE: pump-program-completion-mode-switch-source · Description/Definition of MDC_PUMP_PROGRAM_COMPLETION_MODE: Programmed operation of the pump when a delivery completes (e.g., KVO). · Currently defined set of values: o pump-program-completion-mode-stop o pump-program-completion-mode-kvo o pump-program-completion-mode-continue · None of the currently defined values address the case where a pump that is running a secondary will automatically switch to the primary when the secondary is complete · Note: the set of values for MDC_PUMP_NOT_DELIVERING_REASON includes pump-stopped-switching-source 3c. PCD-15 containment for pumps MDC_CLINICAL_USE_STATE Clinical use state could use more detail. i.e. Infusion pump is in use if it is programmed and ready to infuse. or the more generic case, device is in use if it is programmed/configured and ready to be used with a patient. 4a.
