The CPs out for ballot likely have passed, we’ll know tomorrow. They would normally be folded into the Final Text Technical Framework, but we’ve missed the deadline for submission to IHE. It is uncertain if the FT will be updated for use in the Connectathon. If not, the CPs will be required although in separate documents. CPs for existing Trial Implementat supplements will be coming later.

Discussion of the PIV Tests:
Discussion to update/correct/improve the tests:
:- The Excel spreadsheet with test steps was reviewed. It had been sent before the meeting.
:- Jeff asked that the drug table be added to the demographics on the Identifications tab.
:- The last changes made last year will remain.
:- PIV 03 tab was discussed in detail. Al indicated that it is unnecessary to test multiple application errors.
::o Participants agreed that PIV design will not generally permit buffering IOP messages for safety reasons. It is not necessary to record this out-of-scope activity.
::o Participants agreed that prohibiting buffering should not be part of the profile because a short period of failure to communicate may be acceptable and should be left to the developer.
::o Interruption of communication is out of scope, but included in the test to provide some assurance that systems recover readily in the Showcase.
:- Tab 05, multiple pumps, multiple DOCs will be removed.
::o This is a DEC test and need not be described here. It is unlikely that an organization will have multiple IOCs for the same type of pump, rather for specialty pumps.
::o Christophe suggested that someone coordinate multiple device tests. Others agreed.
:- Khalid referred to a Pre-Connectathon test (60104) – and requested that a different drug be substituted (drug # 2, dopamine) as more appropriate. Manny will ask NIST if they would accept a table of possible drugs and dosages or change the test to refer to drug #2.
:- Manny asked if there are any changes to accommodate other types of pumps. Jeff indicated that these tests are not appropriate for PCA pumps, but can be applied to syringe pumps. There may be changes for syringe pumps, e.g., volume to be delivered is not appropriate. These may be addressed in device specialization.
::o In order to permit new vendors to participate, device specialization may not eliminate testing and claiming conformity to only a subset of the individual profiles that are incorporated.

IPEC:
Discussion to update/correct/improve the tests:
:- “Program cleared” remains an option.
:- Jeff suggested additional tests may be desired.
:- Manny suggested that one criteria for tests is that developers get as much as possible out of the process.
:- IPEC 01 tab was edited for clarity and for a single pump.
::o Jeff offered to right up a separate test for piggyback applications and remove reference to piggyback from this one.
::o Al suggested that another optional message be added: pump loses connectivity.

Discussion of the PIV Tests: Discussion to update/correct/improve the tests:

- The Excel spreadsheet with test steps was reviewed. It had been sent before the meeting.
- Jeff asked that the drug table be added to the demographics on the Identifications tab.
- The last changes made last year will remain.
- PIV 03 tab was discussed in detail. Al indicated that it is unnecessary to test multiple application errors.
o Participants agreed that PIV design will not generally permit buffering IOP messages for safety reasons. It is not necessary to record this out-of-scope activity.
o Participants agreed that prohibiting buffering should not be part of the profile because a short period of failure to communicate may be acceptable and should be left to the developer.
o Interruption of communication is out of scope, but included in the test to provide some assurance that systems recover readily in the Showcase.
- Tab 05, multiple pumps, multiple DOCs will be removed.
o This is a DEC test and need not be described here. It is unlikely that an organization will have multiple IOCs for the same type of pump, rather for specialty pumps.
o Christophe suggested that someone coordinate multiple device tests. Others agreed.
- Khalid referred to a Pre-Connectathon test (60104) – and requested that a different drug be substituted (drug # 2, dopamine) as more appropriate. Manny will ask NIST if they would accept a table of possible drugs and dosages or change the test to refer to drug #2.
- Manny asked if there are any changes to accommodate other types of pumps. Jeff indicated that these tests are not appropriate for PCA pumps, but can be applied to syringe pumps. There may be changes for syringe pumps, e.g., volume to be delivered is not appropriate. These may be addressed in device specialization.
o In order to permit new vendors to participate, device specialization may not eliminate testing and claiming conformity to only a subset of the individual profiles that are incorporated.

IPEC: Discussion to update/correct/improve the tests:

- “Program cleared” remains an option.
- Jeff suggested additional tests may be desired.
- Manny suggested that one criteria for tests is that developers get as much as possible out of the process.
- IPEC 01 tab was edited for clarity and for a single pump.
o Jeff offered to right up a separate test for piggyback applications and remove reference to piggyback from this one.
o Al suggested that another optional message be added: pump loses connectivity.
