: NIST Tools: John Garguilo provided an update. SPD will not be tested with NIST tools this year (Pre-Connectathon). Isolated and Instance tests are required this year. Instance Tests are included in the Isolated Test. If an Isolated Test is not yet available, an Instance Test will be available, except in certain situations. Robert Flanders raised concerns about firewall restrictions. John will address potential workarounds when he presents the tutorial October 11. John described the way the tool will track results and permit saving both passed and failed tests, providing a useful log to track your progress. In addition there is an administrator role to observe results. He added that he is considering posting samples to the ftp site from the NIST tool and not require individual companies to upload.
