The cost per system should be just a few hundred dollars and will include one person; additional people will be able to register with that same system at a cost that likely will be under $100/day intended to cover the costs including food. Certification: New last year; pilot program Profiles in the Final Text (FT) Technical Framework (TF) Takes place in parallel, simultaneously Separate from the Connectathon, managed by ICSA labs under contract with IHE-USA IHE-USA Connectathon Process Connectathons take place around the globe Webinars provide domain specific introductions – see http://na2014.wustl.edu/Training.html for recorded meetings Webinars also describe the Connectathon, registration Registration may be extended: send me an email if necessary to register or modify your registration Development The usual process, tools The VA’s Message Workbench NIST Test Tools Availability of Testing Partners Generally, three partners required; exceptions are made A failed test is a failed test; neither partner will receive credit One passed test may be sufficient when no other partners are available When there are no partners the profile is removed When there are only one or two potential partners this profile is considered “at risk”, i.e., you may invest in implementing the profile but if the potential partner(s) drop out you will be unable to test The current state, potentially affected by the extension of registration, for PCD is that IDCO and RDQ are likely to be dropped due to lack of partners; the options WCM and SPD in PCD-01 (DEC) currently don’t have partners on both ends Lynn will provide a link to this data on Oct. 28 Pre-Connectathon Testing (for PCD with NIST tools) NIST Test Tools available 24x7 and free evaluates your HL7 messages Strongly recommended and a valuable development tool Virtual Connectathon An opportunity to test on your schedule with those systems that are potentially your partners at the Connectathon. Strongly recommended – we suggest testing with as many potential partners as you can conveniently arrange to reduce the risk of failure, improve your efficiency Over the Internet or by workaround Likely voluntary Manny’s spreadsheet will facilitate identification of partners, provide contact information We may be able to use Gazelle to facilitate arranging these tests; again the arrangements are completely between potential partners The Connectathon – and specifically PCD tests Seats assigned with an eye on the domains and profiles you registered for Your partners may be some distance away Tests are NOT scheduled: you reach out to a company and system you want to test with and if available they will accept your invitation Tests are “managed” by Gazelle You and your test partner tell Gazelle you are testing Generally you will upload messages to Gazelle for evaluation by the test tools When the test is complete you request that a monitor evaluate the test documentation; the monitor may request that you conduct the test again while the monitor watches The monitor will “pass”, “fail” or “partially pass” your test If you succeed with testing with the required number of partners AND do so with all required tests for that profile, you will have “passed” testing or that profile Failures are not reported; success can be claimed and is recorded and available on line EXCEPT: options are not reported; you may pass but will not see these reported You should see the results before you leave Chicago and will have a few days to review them and if you think there is an error, can raise your concerns Supportive Testing: Upon request; conditions apply. The Showcase will not be a scheduled part of the Connectathon. PCD will ask those participating in the Showcase to include the parameters they will demonstrate at the Showcase in their testing. By the time we attend the Connectathon we should have a good idea of where each system will be placed and which systems will be their partners (good idea, but not final). More About the Connectathon Wednesday Oct 30, Lynn plans an informational webinar for all Connectathon participants (focus on first timers) to cover preparation activities from now through the end of the year. This will include the schedule for preparation activities, pre-Connectathon testing & how to use Gazelle to find test requirements and submit results, communication methods (websites, email lists), logistics badges, table assignments etc.). [date was changed from Tuesday during the meeting] The schedule at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AkpIuejcpSerdFZxeHd3T0tuMzJSZjRxd2JyeGNDekE&single=true&gid=0&output=html indicates that the Classic Connectathon will end at noon Friday. However, I’m not aware of the schedule for the certification track.
