HIE Security with HIE White Paper (John Moehrke)

The version published on www.ihe.net needs update. The group will discuss the area where update further discussions are needed. - new copy on FTP site, in this year's folder (identify) - added issues that have been brought to John's attention that were gaps in the paper (ie. distributed security, privacy policies, cover some of the issues around policy-driven privacy/security roadmap, etc.) - this paper could be a useful complement to HITSP TN900 construct, value to those building RHIO - could be addressed in a deployment workshop similar to the one conducted in Canada earlier this year, Lori to organize next session. - needs to be reviewed and commented on by this committee, NHIN2 contractors (Lori), EHI, Connectathon participants, HITSP Security/Privacy (Lori), HISPC (Lori) - would like ITI Planning to coordinate review

New IHE Governance

Membership application are received. All current members and others are encouraged to apply at www.ihe.net/governance (before January 4th to participate to the first International Board elections).

Glossy document on Web Services in IHE (Vassil Peytchev)

We were planning to develop a white paper in 2008 on a Web Services Roadmap for IHE. At the October ITI Planning Committee, it has been proposed to transform this effort in a brief 2 pages document that summarizes at a high-level:

• The role of webservices in healthcare interoperability, a key component by only a part of the solution
• the current use of Web Services across IHE profiles (Final and Trial Implementation),
• the general approach followed by IHE with new profiles in term of use of Web Services.

- agreement by the committee (and Vassil) on this approach. - schedule a call to discuss week of Jan 7/08 3:30-5:00pm Central to review/feedback on the white paper, Gail to send out invitation.

Reuse of Health Data White Paper (Charles Parisot)

This white paper was also to be developped by the ITI Planning Committee in 2008. A draft was developped in the spring. It has been used by the new IHE Quality domain, but has never been finalized to reach a point of public comment. Committee members are asked to review the attched draft and offer recommendations as next steps.

- Committee confirmed that this paper is worth the effort, and should be released for public comment. - Charles committed to target completion by early Feb, review with committee, prepare for public comment in March.

HIMSS Presentations (Charles Parisot)

Need to organize the ITI presentation at HIMSS.

- 2 theatres at Interoperability Showcase, half of presentations around IHE - 1 30-minute presentations on ITI Infrastructure will be prepared, domain update - Karen Witting and Mike Nusbaum will take the lead

- "IHE in the hospital" and "IHE in the community" presentations often coordinated by ITI Planning. Should this be done again?

- Didi announced that f2f meeting at HIMSS won't be happening this year.
