IHE Pharmacy addresses information sharing, workflow and patient care in both community and hospital pharmacies.

IHE Pharmacy is sponsored by the EAHP, NICTIZ and Réseau Phast and manages the Pharmacy Profiles and the Frameworks .

There are two committees which are for the moment grouped into one:

Supplements for Trial Implementation

The IHE Pharmacy Technical Committee invites organizations to begin development work based on the following supplements to the forthcoming Pharmacy Technical Framework.

These trial implementation profiles are available for testing at IHE Connectathons since April 2011.

  1. Common Parts Document - Published 2010-12-30
  2. Community Medication Prescription and Dispense (CMPD) - Published 2010-12-30
  3. Hospital Medication Workflow (HMW) - Published 2010-12-30
  4. Pharmacy Dispense (DIS) - Published 2010-12-30
  5. Pharmacy Pharmaceutical Advise (PADV) - Published 2010-12-30
  6. Pharmacy Prescription (PRE) - Published 2010-12-30

Comments and implementer feedback on all documents can be submitted to the online discussion forums at http://forums.rsna.org.

Current Activity

The Technical Committee is currently working on a new version of a candidate Integration Profile and 2 white papers:

  • the CMPD profile Basic Community Pharmacy Integration Profile with XDW
    • publish & pull prescriptions, access to dispensed medication & pharmaceutical advice
  • a white paper on "Medication Documentation"
    • a pan community and hospital work
  • a white paper on the medication supply chain inside hospitals
    • to extend the Basic Hospital Pharmacy Integration Profile
