IHE-RO Technical Committee Registration Test Tool Discussion Teleconference une 30, 2008, 10:00 am ET

Participants: Sunita Ranjitkar Christof Schadt Scott Johnson Bruce Curran Harold Beunk Uli Busch Walter Bosch

Background (From Scott’s BBS posting 6/29/08)

We have discovered that the 2008 Profile Test Data is missing some useful orientation information. Specifically with relation to the PET Hybrid case. Patient Position (0018,5100) is missing and Patient Orientation Code Sequence (0054,0410) is empty. Patient Orientation Modifier Code Sequence (0054,0412) and Patient Gantry Relationship Code Sequence (0054,0414) are empty as well.

This brings up the issue if we need to further specify image attribute requirements within the Profile for the 2008 Profile or do the vendors need to handle cases of missing orientation information? During Mondays T-Con we will decide the approach we will take with regard to attributes of image data and the test data.

Notes:

1. Do we need/want Patient Position and Patient Orientation Code Sequence specified?

  • This information is useful and important for treatment planning and Physics QA.

2. Should it be specified in this profile?

  • No, but requirements for specifying Patient Position and Patient Orientation Code Sequence and Patient Gantry Relationship Code Sequence should be added to future profiles (or revisions of the 2007 profile)

3.Changes to 2008 Test Data

  • Add Patient Position, Patient Orientation Code Sequence and Patient Gantry Relationship Code Sequence attributes to test data
  • Actors must preserve these attributes, but need not use or display them.

4. Non-HFS Patient Orientation should be tested

  • Uli to compile list of cases for Bruce to acquire phantom scans with multiple orientations
