Mammography Acquisition Workflow - Detailed Proposal
Brief Proposals
The following brief proposals were selected on Sept 4 for expansion to detailed proposals to be evaluated by the Technical Cmte.
The National Extensions on PDI for Germany - Brief Proposal is work that would be done by IHE Germany as a National Extension and submitted to the Radiology Technical Cmte for approval. The approval will be handled within the time allocated to Maintenance rather than as a formal workitem. Since a number of the issue are controversial, this initial communication from IHE Germany is appreciated and should continue. It would be good to continue editing this proposal to clarify the remaining issues.
The following three proposals were all of interest but need whitepapers to better define the scope and specific needs.
Orthopaedic Image - Brief Proposal would fit in the Radiology Domain, but should probably make use of the current work in DICOM on digital templates which is still in progress. In the meantime it would be useful to develop a whitepaper documenting the clinical needs and workflows.
Radiology Systems Monitoring - Brief Proposal could fit in the Radiology Domain. Since it should probably use general mechanisms to solve a wide variety of specific challenges, it would benefit from a whitepaper first listing a variety of desired usages (examples of what information should be available where, from where, for what purpose), and if possible also including a brief survey of alternative mechanisms and methods (broadcast, polling, subscription; MPPS, Web Services, etc). Depending on the mechanisms, this profile might belong in IHE IT Infrastructure with Radiology adding some specializations.
Clinical Decision Support - Brief Proposal could fit in the Radiology Domain. Again, it should probably use general mechanisms to solve a wide variety of specific challenges, it would benefit from a whitepaper first listing a variety of desired usages (examples of what information should be available where, from where, for what purpose), and if possible also including a brief survey of alternative mechanisms and methods. Depending on the mechanisms, this profile might belong in IHE IT Infrastructure with Radiology adding some specializations.
