Final Selection

The following workitems were selected by the Planning Committee on October 24th (Minutes)

Address dose capture, submission to registries, and download of dose benchmarks/statistics
Define all use cases/behaviors that would be included in a new Profile and develop detailed Use Case definitions
Specifically address issues raise by Mammography, IHE-Japan and IHE-Spain
Development of the profile itself will likely occur in the 2008-09 Development Cycle.
Prepare informative text on how to best deploy Mammo Acquisition with the current SWF
Gaps will be addressed in, or supplemental to, a Scheduled Workflow 2.0 Profile

Note: A fact-finding test of compatibility issues between different vendors use of DVDs and compression will take place during the 2008 North American Connectathon. This information will likely lead to a PDI for Large Datasets profile in the 2008-09 Development Cycle.

Detailed Proposals

The following detailed proposals were prepared for evaluation by the Technical Cmte.

Tech Cmte evaluations are inserted at the bottom of each proposal. Additional Meeting Minutes: September 26, 2007, October 4, 2007, October 16, 2007

Editors: To convert your Brief Proposal to a Detailed Proposal:

  • Create a new link above (Change "Brief" to "Detailed")
  • Copy your Brief proposal text into the new page (don't forget to save)
  • Copy the Delta Proposal Template into the bottom of the new page
  • Update as necessary.

Brief Proposals

The following brief proposals were selected on Sept 4 for expansion to detailed proposals.

The National Extensions on PDI for Germany - Brief Proposal is work that would be done by IHE Germany as a National Extension and submitted to the Radiology Technical Cmte for approval. The approval will be handled within the time allocated to Maintenance rather than as a formal workitem. Since a number of the issue are controversial, this initial communication from IHE Germany is appreciated and should continue. It would be good to continue editing this proposal to clarify the remaining issues.

The following three proposals were all of interest but need whitepapers to better define the scope and specific needs.

Orthopaedic Image - Brief Proposal would fit in the Radiology Domain, but should probably make use of the current work in DICOM on digital templates which is still in progress. In the meantime it would be useful to develop a whitepaper documenting the clinical needs and workflows.

Radiology Systems Monitoring - Brief Proposal could fit in the Radiology Domain. Since it should probably use general mechanisms to solve a wide variety of specific challenges, it would benefit from a whitepaper first listing a variety of desired usages (examples of what information should be available where, from where, for what purpose), and if possible also including a brief survey of alternative mechanisms and methods (broadcast, polling, subscription; MPPS, Web Services, etc). Depending on the mechanisms, this profile might belong in IHE IT Infrastructure with Radiology adding some specializations.

Clinical Decision Support - Brief Proposal could fit in the Radiology Domain. Again, it should probably use general mechanisms to solve a wide variety of specific challenges, it would benefit from a whitepaper first listing a variety of desired usages (examples of what information should be available where, from where, for what purpose), and if possible also including a brief survey of alternative mechanisms and methods. Depending on the mechanisms, this profile might belong in IHE IT Infrastructure with Radiology adding some specializations.
