10:50-12:10: Encounter-based Imaging Workflow for Lightweight Devices (1.5) (-10min)
13:00-15:00: New Participants Welcoming discussion
  • Committee held a broad discussion of strategic issues including
  • Connectathon Testing
  • Current testing process has inherent limitations that are being stressed by growing number of profiles for testing and limited number of actors in key roles (eg, Order Filler/RIS). Finding sufficient partners to fulfill "three partners rule" is increasingly difficult for some profiles.
  • One possible strategy to target marketing of Connectathon participation to "hub" actors. We may need to provide incentives such as special recognition.
  • SWF.b is among the profiles whose testing has so far been limited. There is recognition in the industry of the need for the profile and interest in implementing it. However, there are currently very limited testing tools to make testing attractive.
  • Need for new tooling and testing processes.
  • Recruit companies who have internal development tooling and encourage them to participate in an open source tool development and maintenance project.
  • Review current content base and consider consolidating by actor/product groupings.

15:00-16:00: Closing evaluation
  • IDEP
    • Did we line-by-line the entire document
      • 1475 of 1515 lines reviewed (75 of 85 pages)
    • How ready is it to go out for TI
      • Soonish to almost
    • How did the work fit in the allocated bandwidth?
      • A few review items left undone this week but no development undone
    • Review the evaluation. Which complexity/uncertainty/effort points missed the mark?
      • Evaluation expected more transactions could be reused. In the end, three new transactions were created instead of one and a further transaction (RAD-128) requires a CP
      • These transactions did not represent new functionality
      • Missed some uncertainty points around technical appropriateness of current transactions
      • Some approaches were changed based on committee feedback
    • What significant debates in TI-prep were not anticipated in the Kickoff or PC-Prep
      • Amount of detail to put in actor section
    • What residual risks are worth noting
      • Testing will be complex, which may hinder formal adoption
    • Does it feel we've met all the use cases
      • Yes
    • Did the promised resources manifest
      • No input from HCA, some from InfoWay
    • What vendors are engaged (for each actor):
      • Vital Images (Canon), GE (XDS / XCA), Change, Visage, HDIRS, RSNA Image Share, Canada Health Infoway
    • Who should specifically be targeted for TI notification (implementors & advocates)
      • Canada Health Infoway, RSNA Image Share, ACR ("Ditch the disk")
    • When will we have sample data/objects
      • N/A
    • Do you need any tcons between now and TI Publication
      • Yes: <= 2 x 2 hours needed
    • Did public comments result in a design change?
      • PC proposed several new transactions. These were sketched out before TI meeting but it wasn't feasible to complete them entirely without direction
    • Was the profile where it needed to be at the end of the TI meeting, if not what was the gap
      • One section needs updating based on pending decision by committee
      • One and a half sections need review but no major revisions expected
16:00-17:00: Technical Framework Maintenance (7)
Closing evaluation: Profile_Development_Process_for_First_Timers#Annex:_Kickoff_Closing_Assessment
