Two Workflows are described by this profile:

• Discrete Positioning and Delivery Workflow involves positioning a patient and subsequent treatment delivery performed by separate devices.
• Integrated Positioning and Delivery Workflow involves positioning a patient and subsequent treatment delivery both performed by a single device.

Details

Discrete Positioning and Delivery Workflow involves:

• The Patient Positioning System (PPS)
  • acquires a set of 2D (planar projection) or 3D (CT) positioning images
  • performs a registration with previously retrieved reference images
  • repositions the patient if necessary
• The Treatment Delivery Device (TDD)
  • delivers the intended treatment to the already correctly positioned patient

Integrated Positioning and Delivery Workflow involves:

• The Positioning and Delivery System (PDS)
  • acquires a set of 2D (planar projection) or 3D (CT) positioning images
  • performs a registration with previously retrieved reference images
  • repositions the patient if necessary
  • delivers the intended treatment
