Introduction

IHE Profiles describe specific solutions to interoperability problems. An IHE Profile specifies the standards to be used by each "Actor" in a set of transactions that address a specific healthcare use case.

Referencing IHE Profiles gives implementers and users of health IT systems a common language for solutions that carry with them the full detailed specifications needed to ensure interoperability. For ease of reference, each Profile is given a full name and a short acronym.

The list of Profiles below is organized by the IHE Domain that produces them. The list of IHE Profiles can also be viewed:

Each domain defines and publishes profiles to address interoperability issues related to its clinical and operational scope.

Symbols Key

The Profiles listed here may be in one of five states:

Final.gif - Final Text - stable
Trial.gif - Trial Implementation - frozen for trial use; changes permitted prior to Final Text; not all TI profiles may be listed here
TIBackToPC.gif - Public Comment - a Trial Implementation profile republished for Public Comment
Comment.gif - Public Comment - new profile published for public comment (not for implementation; description may not be available until TI; not all PC profiles may be listed here)
Retired.gif - Deprecated/Retired - no longer recommended or maintained by IHE

Additional Indicators
