3	Action Item Review - <tbd>	Status/Discussion: Mindmanager (v8) "mindmap" XML export support evaluation: Jan did some testing over the holidays (!!!) to evaluate the XML export support from MindJet's MindManager v8 application. He determined that the export worked well; however, care must be taken in how the map is constructed so as to get the best export structure. For example, it is best to copy the mindmap segment to be exported to a new map and then export that map. Mindmanager on-line collaborative support: Jan & Todd also tested the MindJet on-line "cloud" collaborative computing service support using MindJet Connect. Though this seemed to work well, it would take more to work out the usage nuances, and much of the same capability can be achieved with presentations using services such as WebEx (though not as highly collaborative or cloud-enabled). Ontology development references: Steven & Todd are still looking to provide either references to standards relating to ontology development. Todd will be seeing members of IHTSDO and ISO TC215 WG3 at meetings this weekend in Orlando - hopefully, he will be able to retrieve references / copies of these standards or even more recent work. He will also consult with Teri Monk / Martin Hurrell & Andrew Norton in the Orlando meetings, all of whom are very familiar with ontology development work and are trying to conclude the current IOTA projects by mid-2009. 4	Semantic Architecture Modeling Review - Wittenber	Status/Discussion: Jan walked the group through an expanded semantic architecture model that he has been developing to support a 2nd generation version of the ISO/IEEE 11073 terminology, addressing not only the lessons learned from application of the 1st generation terminology (namely 11073-10101), but also need arising from the IHE PCD Rosetta work and by the ICE-PAC team analysis, which factors in next generation use case applications specified as part of the MDPnP (Goldman/CIMIT) work and the ASTM ICE standard development project. - Semantic Arch modeling files on the (FTP) site - <include active PDF version of the model files> - <include links to tools needed for reading mmap; incl. Mobipocket Reader for the integrated graphic physio models> - The model is broken into three key components: Physio systems (correlating terms & term groups to their associated physiology and physiological functionsP) Clinical (providing model components for the real-world use cases that are supported by the formal terminology/semantics) Device (relates the above physio & clinical domain analyses to the device measurement / control modalities associated with the semantics) Paul pointed out the need to include the "clinician spoken terms", and not only the machine description of a concept. Steven also pointed out that these mneumonic term labels could become quite long if they include all the component semantics. Jan pointed out that factoring in the Clinical model components should address Paul's concerns. Todd also pointed out that there is a separation between the human-readable rendering of a given term (incl. language specific translation) vs. the machine processable version. Jan's model also included information from an analysis of the type and frequency of charted parameters. - <retrieve article reference from Jan> Jan's presenntation included a demonstration of how the mindmap could be templated for the definition of new terms (this was provided in the mindmap @ <INCLUDE MMAP PATH TO THE TERM TEMPLATE> ) Steven Dain provided a reference to physiological simulation that might be a good source of information regarding the physiological model section: www.AdvSim.com Todd also mentioned a lecture he took in while at a conference in Christchurch NZ the end of November 2008 on computational physiology by Dr. Peter Hunter, "Computational Physiology – or putting Humpty Dumpty back together again". Todd will obtain references for the group to review this lecture. It links models from the genome to entire physiological systems. Though significant ventilator concepts have been captured in this general semantic architecture model, work needs to be done to correlate it with previous modeling work (see earlier Discussion Summaries) and the process, semantic components, and table templates that need to be defined to enable definition of the "gap" terms and updating of existing terms. 5	Planning Discussion - Group	Status/Discussion: Orlando Meeting Objectives: - The Vent TG would like to join the Orlando meetings via WebEx if at all possible on Thursday 2009.01.15. - Thursday agenda (still to be finalized) should include a review of the semantic architecture agenda, model content, development process (going forward), roadmap / work plan, and device specialization details (incl. vent & infusors). - Alignment discussion between various groups working in this space including the IHE PCD, ICE-PAC JWG, and ISO/IEEE standards groups. Next steps: - Finalize process for new term definition - Finalize core semantic model components for term definition - Define templates for term definition - Define syntax (prescriptive) and guidelines for composition of term definitions (incl. mnemonic forms). Decisions/Issues: Action(s): (Todd/Melvin) Determine if WebEx support can be provided from the Orlando meetings Thursday 2009.01.15.
