Decisions/Issues:

deferred to next meeting

Action(s):

2 RTMMS ENUM description update
- tbd
Status/Discussion:
worked on several new descriptions, updated file Pump_enum_descriptions_v3.xlsx to be reviewed at next meeting.

Decisions/Issues:

Action(s):

3 Units of Measure
- tbd
Status/Discussion:
mgPE is milligrams of Phenytoin Equivalents.
Source (FDA): https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/drugsatfda_docs/label/2007/076886s000lbl.pdf

“IMPORTANT NOTE: Throughout all fosphenytoin product labeling, the amount and concentration of fosphenytoin is expressed in terms of phenytoin sodium equivalents (PE). Fosphenytoin’s weight is expressed as phenytoin sodium equivalents to avoid the need to perform molecular weight-based adjustments when converting between fosphenytoin and phenytoin sodium doses. Fosphenytoin should always be prescribed and dispensed in phenytoin sodium equivalent units (PE). (See DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION.)”
Could petition UCUM (Regenstrief ) to get it added

Vials as a dosing unit is different than the most common use of the term “vial” meaning there is xx mg (or volume) per vial.
{vials} and {vial} would both be listed as UCUM equivalent expressions for the proposed MDC_DIM_VIAL
EU and EU/kg are intended to represent Enzyme Units, which has a UCUM value of U. Part of our concern here is that in the international market, they seem to use EU to mean Enzyme Units, and not U which seems to be a U.S. abbreviation. Should we be referencing EU as the UCUM unit of ‘U’ instead of EU.
mcal is used for nutritional not thermal calories
