It appears that the dialysis project is redirecting itself to a goal of issuing a consortium-type as opposed to HL7 or IHE specification, apparently modeled on IHE PCD PCD-01 and PCD ACM NIST-type testing will be used.

FHIR DevDays 2018 Boston was held last week. Sold out 400 participant slots, Apple, Google, and Microsoft much in evidence. Much interest in "SMART on FHIR"-style access to EMR data, also FHIR as an easy-to-handle way of passing around bulk data for analytics. Device data will be important, and for some applications, traceability via MDS and VMD identification will be critical. Personal Health Devices and Point-of-Care subgroups of HL7 Health Care Devices Work Group "Devices on FHIR" project collaborating with other HL7 WGs to achieve this. Join the fun!
