Status/Discussion:
NOTE: Todd was hosting this session while attending meetings in Minneapolis. So the notes are from ... memory!!!
General summary points...
  • Key requirement: Differentiate PoC integration benefits vs. enterprise integration
  • Clearly differentiate Device-to-device integration vs. server-proxy integration
  • Business case mandatory!
- Jeff Rinda recounted difficulty in examplaining DPI objectives to others within his company
- Cannot be just support for "futuristic" applications / systems!
  • Legacy no longer a big issue ... there are solutions available today for legacy devices - so this shouldn't be a major driver of DPI requirements.
  • Start with device specialization abstract info definitions (Wittenber)
