This is intended as a work in progress, with milestones added or modified throughout the cycle. Dates to be assigned.

Development of Test Concepts with the Profile WGs - Dec. 21
Development of the Pre-Connectathon Tests (MWB and NIST tools) to qualify systems for the Virtual and actual Connectathons
Development of Connectathon Tests
Reporting successful completion of Pre-Connectathon Qualifying Tests (initial qualifying MESA test, PCD profile tests)
Conduct of Virtual Connectathon Testing and reporting results - No later than last two weeks of Jan.
Submission of networking requirements to Steve Moore - Dec. 17 with MAC addresses due to Steve by Jan. 15
Definition of Scenario for Showcase - Rough draft Jan. 6
Definition of space, utility and other requirements for the Showcase - Dec. 17

  • Monitor registrations for various actors.
  • Resolution of ADT and other identification issues, including PAM, PDQ, device and caregiver ID
  • (Manny) Learn if HIMSS Convention Registration will include an MRN barcode, what the barcode standard will be
  • Colin FX/ Ruth) - summarize patient ID/registration requirements / issues from discussion. Group will review and discuss in a subsequent WebEx session.
  • (All) Provide material for the Scenario (outline or brief description) to be followed by Manny compiling a single view.
  • Manny to talk with printer vendors about bar code printers.
  • Determine how RTM will be tested in Pre-Connectathon, Virtual Connectathon, and Connectathon.
  • (Pump Vendors, Enterprise Systems) Pump vendors will establish bar coding for drugs, infusions, caregiver ID and share the information with partners.
  • (Manny) Create Wiki page for "virtual connectathon" on Connectathon '09 page. Include, partners, issues list / resolution, status, etc.
  • (All) Identify overarching message (e.g., patient safety. Note that Ray presented the stakeholder survey which showed
  • Survey Slide #17, "Improved Patient Care and Safety" was by far the greatest "incentives for IHE integration"; #2 was "Long term cost reduction"; #3 was improved workflow
  • Workshop discussion suggested we focus on these, with 5 rights, remote alarm communication among the specifics
  • (Bikram, Jim Higgins) Identify the devices to be connected to middleware
  • (Manny) Coordinate ADT testing (Virtual and Connectathon) with Bill Klaver, coordinate with Steve Moore, John Donnelly, seek a backup system.
  • (Brett) Update name for alarm product
  • Steve Moore needs MAC addresses
  • (Manny) Business card for Showcase w/ all companies listed + Booth numbers
  • (Manny) Set PCD Docent training WebEx / on site (and run through at Connectathon)
  • (All) Webex run through of draft Scenario

  • Manny to contact Jim Higgins (Cerner) to coordinate Hill-Rom support. They provided a bed and a gurney in the past. Rita indicated that Cerner will coordinate Hill-Rom and Stryker beds and a gurney.
  • (Manny) Emails to Lisa with feedback on the Workshop
  • (Manny) Draft ACM tests ready for review - covered elsewhere
  • (Manny) HIMSS badge - MRN? - covered elsewhere
  • Ruth indicated that GE Enterprise includes the 5-rights data entry.
  • Special meeting was held to address ADT, other ID. Al had provided information about PAM, the need for A04 which is in ITI-31, not ITI-30, will be part of patient ID issue.
  • Colin FX (Epic) and Ruth (GE) offered approaches to support patient ID/registration requirements / issues from discussion.
  • (All) Patient IDs, ADT/PIB issues, device and caregiver ID are covered in other items on the list.
  • (Manny, pump vendors, any others) Wireless spectrum management. Didi is not supportive of addressing this throughout the convention hall, recommends approaching John Donnelly. Manny will contact John.
  • Emergin, LiveData) Connectathon on site testing with Polycom is scheduled for Thursday, Friday morning.
  • (Ruth) Does GE Enterprise include the 5-rights data entry?
  • Sarah Higgins identified contacts at Datamax and Zebra.
  • (Manny, pump vendors, any others) Wireless spectrum management. Didi is not supportive of addressing this throughout the convention hall, recommends approaching John Donnelly. Manny will contact John.
  • (Emergin, LiveData) Schedule Connectathon on site testing with Polycom
  • (Manny) Summarize focused meeting, include diagram.
  • (Bikram) Now unlikely to have bidirectional distributed demo - pushing data in from their booth to the demo.
  • (Pump Vendors, Enterprise Systems) Vendors will provide their own approach to bar coding for drugs, infusions, patients and caregivers.
