MESA/Portable Media Importer

Portable Media Importer Tests

Test Case 1931: Read RSNA 2004 CD (now 2005 CD)

The purpose of this test is for the PMI actor to open the DICOMDIR file on the RSNA 2005 CD and import the images and other composite objects on the CD. When first written in 2005, the purpose was to discover errors in the CD and to test your application. We now assume the CD is nearly correct, so the purpose of the test is for you to test your application against this 2005 RSNA CD.

References

The 2005 CD and other data is stored at http://ihedoc.wustl.edu/mesasoftware/10.15.0/dist/ext_data/pdi_2005/index.htm

Instructions

To run this test, follow these steps:

1. Obtain the RSNA 2005 PDI Demonstration CD. If you do not have a physical copy of the CD, download the ISO image of the CD from the MESA distribution page and create a CD from the ISO image.

2. Use your DICOM application to open the DICOMDIR file on the RSNA CD.

3. Select and import all of the studies on the CD. For those studies with multiple images, you can select a small subset of the images.

4. Determine if you can import each study on the CD.

Evaluation

1. Submit a text file that lists the vendors on the demonstration CD with a simple indication (Yes/No) that you could import the data.

2. If there are problems with printing, submit a screen capture demonstrating the problem and/or submit additional documentation. If you have such problems, submit the data (Kudu/Gazelle) and send a note to the Project Manager to call attention to the issue.

Supplemental Information

Test Case 1932: Read Vendor CDs

The purpose of this test is for the PMI actor to open the DICOMDIR file on CDs provided by vendors for the RSNA 2004/2005 PDI demonstrations and to import the composite objects on those CDs.

References

The data from the vendor CD is found at http://ihedoc.wustl.edu/mesasoftware/10.15.0/dist/ext_data/pdi_2005/index.htm

Instructions

To run this test, follow these steps:

1. Obtain the vendor CDs from the RSNA 2004/2005 PDI Demonstrations. If you do not have a physical copy of the CDs, download the ISO images from the MESA distribution page and create a CD from the ISO image.

2. Use your DICOM application to open the DICOMDIR file on each vendor CD.

3. Select and import all of the studies on the CD. For those studies with multiple images, you can select a small subset of the images.

4. Create a simple text file. List the vendors who supplied samples and a simple yes/no indicating if you could import the data. If you have problems importing the data, submit a screen capture or other evidence to document the problem. Also, please send an email to the Project Manager to have him/her investigate.

Evaluation

1. Submit the simple text file as the results for this test.
