MESA/Content Updater

Test Cases: XDW - Cross-Enterprise Document Workflow profile

This section describes test cases associated with the XDW Profile.

Test Case 16310: XDW - Update a Workflow Document

In test 16310, you will access a sample workflow document that is based on the "Basic Unstructured Workflow Document" example in the defined for the XDW Profile in Vol 2x:Appendix X., update that document using your application, and then use the XDW Validator provided in gazelle to validate the document.

Finally, you will upload your 'updated' workflow document into gazelle as a sample. We ask you to upload your sample two weeks in advance of the pre-Connectathon test deadline to give Consumers time to test with your document.

Instructions

For this pre-Connectathon test, you will update a workflow document defined in XDW Appendix X - Basic Unstructured Workflow Definition Example, Section X.4.2. The document you will update contains a generic task that can be completed by any application that is an XDW Content Updater.

  1. Access the sample workflow document. It can be found in either:
    1. In the Samples area of gazelle:
      1. Select menu Connectathon / List of Samples
      2. On the Samples available for rendering' tab, find the sample for system OTHER_IHE2. The sample is called XDW-for-Updater
    2. Or, from this wiki: http://ihewiki.wustl.edu/wiki/index.php/File:XDW-Document-for-Updater.xml
  2. Download this XDW document into your local environment, then update the document and add a task that is relevant to your product/application.
    1. Your new task will contain an input document, and output document, or both
    2. We provide guidance for creating the document in http://ihewiki.wustl.edu/wiki/index.php/File:Test_16310_WorkflowDocument_guidance.xls, but the contents of the task you complete should be in the context of the clinical functions your product performs.

For this test, you do not have to submit your workflow document to an XDS Repository/Registry, but you will have to supply a Folder.uniqueID and a XDSDocumentEntry.uniqueID as part of the required elements in your workflow document.

(1) Once you have updated the workflow document, upload your sample into gazelle & run the validation:

  1. Log into gazelle.
  2. Select menu: Connectathon / List of Samples
  3. Select the Samples to share tab for your test system
  4. For the XDW entry, select the 'Add sample' (+) icon.
  5. Upload the XML for your XDW document. Name the XML file using this convention:
    1. SYSTEMNAME_16310_XDW.xml, where "SYSTEMNAME" is your test system's name in gazelle, eg. EHR_XYZmed_16310_XDW.xml
  6. Select use "Pre-Connectathon" from the drop-down list on the summary of the sample.
  7. Select the "Validate" button.

(2) Capture your results:

  1. When you have 'passed' validation results, copy the Permanent Link to those results (eg the link looks like... http://gazelle.ihe.net/EVSClient/xdwResult.seam?id=18
  2. Find test 16310 in gazelle under menu Connectathon / Pre-Connectathon testing.
  3. Paste the Permanent Link into the Comment box for test pre-Connectathon test 16310.
  4. Ensure that you pass validation before completing this test.

Evaluation

The project manager will examine the results of your validation. Your test partners that are Content Consumers will also be able to access your sample.

Alternative: Access XDW Validator via the Gazelle External Validation Service (EVS):

Once you have created the workflow document, run the validation:

  1. Access the External Validation Service: http://gazelle.ihe.net/EVSClient/home.seam
  2. Select menu: IHE / XDW / XDW Validation
  3. Upload the XML for your XDW document.
  4. Select the "Validate" button

Next, find your results:

  1. Select menu: IHE / XDW / Validated XDW documents
  2. Use the interface to find your validated document. This will show your results.
