Domain Announcements

1. Domain Milestone Dates

• PCC - Selected Profiles

• Postpartum Visit Summary: CDA document recording all activity from time of discharge until final postpartum office visit including any interim visits (6-12 week time frame)

• Wrap up of previous work on Antepartum Summary and Hospital Course

• Newborn Discharge Summary: CDA document recording activities from birth to discharge for normal newborn case

• Working with QRPH, which will use data public health reporting profiles for newborns, eg, hearing screening and immunization forecasting

• Working with ITI on use of "folders" for accumulating records in Labor and Delivery Record

• OB Workflow: process that goes from Antepartum to LDR to Newborn.

• Extension to Patient Plan of Care: Nursing Subcommittee of PCC developing content profile, a CDA document to manage transfer or hand-off of care, shift report

• Workflow and Scheduling for Management of Referrals: Communication of referrals and acknowledgments across clinical domains (eg, cardiology or radiology referrals)

• Proposed by Australian group
• Input and review by specialty domains important; needs to mesh with specialty workflows

• Action Item: PCC Tech Co-chairs (Tone Southerland and Laura Heermann) to lead discussion and review via email and tcon in Domain Coordination Cmte (either on regular call or targeted additional call); Chris Carr will forward action item to them

Documentation, Websites and Public Information

• Technical Framework section numbering (Karen Witting)

• Some domains use static section numbering so that section numbers, at least the two or three top levels, don't change. i.e. a profile is always section x and a transaction is always section y. Some domains (ex. PCC) are not maintaining static section numbering so this has caused ITI has to update their section references each year as sections are moved. Should domains use consistent section numbering to support consistent cross-referencing.

• Change Supplement Template title page to say "DRAFT in preparation for Public Comment". (2009-11-10)

• Rationale: those outside IHE often find or are sent these documents prior to public comment and assume they are the public comment version. This leads to confusion. Sponsor would change title page when the supplement is released officially for public comment.
