  • Upgrading convenience of use of Technical Framework documents for developers implementing a specific profile using online documentation
  • Rich Kernon from NHIN has identified methods in .pdf Acrobat Professional to create section links
  • Rich Kernon provided fully indexed ITI Technical Framework documents that IHE can consider posting
  • Also provided instructions for generating the links using Adobe Acrobat Professional and Bookmark Plug-in
  • How would new versions of document be published to maintain stability of references?
  • Current version could always be published using a generic file name; archived versions
  • Discussion regarding linking across Technical Framework documents needs to engage entire Documentation Coordination Committee
  • The ability to do this linking requires adhering to uniform templates, document reference practices
  • Action Item: Post ITI docs from NHIN using suggested file naming conventions and create Wiki page mock up of Technical Frameworks page to link to them
  • Need to consider various use cases in making changes
  • Implementers using online documentation for single actor/profile
  • Implementers using printed documentation
  • Implementers wanting a whole set of Technical Framework volumes
  • Authors
    • consider references from both internal (supplements) and external (e.g. HITSP) sources
  • Librarian/publisher
  • Anyone want to review general documentation and history
  • Authors will continue to work on documents in MS-Word and publishing them to ftp site
  • Consider better method of managing documents once they are delivered for publication
