The Content Consumer is responsible for accessing content that has been shared or exchanged between other IHE Actors. It is expected to be grouped with other Actors that perform the actual sharing or exchanging of information, and is used most often in Content Integration profiles.

The responsibilities placed on this actor in the context of each Profile is summarized here. For the actual specifications, refer to the Technical Framework.

A system that supports an Actor does not have to meet the requirements in any given Profile unless the system claims support of that Profile in the product Integration Statement.

This Profile depends on the actor to access the medical summaries that have been exchanged.

EDR

This Profile depends on the actor to access ED Referrals that have been exchanged.

BPPC
