Review of Final Structural Heart Document
  • Charles Thomas presented the final edits as suggested by the Technical Committee prior to public comment. The question of how many indications should be added to harmonize with other registries is still an open item. The challenge is trying to hit a moving target. Each registry will conitntue to evolve.
  • When the document is out for public comment clinicians will be encouraged to review the details to ensure that it meets the needs of a majority of the possible clinical situations. For example, pulmonary hypertension is an indication for right heart cath.
  • A discussion of indications vs. history vs. contraindications for procedures. Table 6.3.6.7 Observation will see many of the items moved to History, such as frailty, or immobility, rather than existing in the indications table.
  • Items Listed in the Open Items: Should they be moved when they are completed, or remain in the list with a notation that they have been closed? Charles will leave them
  • Charles will post a final draft on the FTP on 4/20 and send an e-mail to the groups to provide feedback by 4/25.
Webinar Registry
  • Discussion about the fine points of webinar including the role of moderator. Paul Dow will be the moderator. We will also include Alan Katz, David Slotwiner, Ganesan Srinivasan, Antje Schroder, Chris Melo, and Nick Gawrit. Paul will submit the form this week.
Call for Nominations
  • Paul will send out the official call for nominations to replace Antje as the co-chair. She will remain a member of the Technical Committee, but her professional responsibilities prevent her from being a co-chair.
