* CP-ITI-Fix ITI 53 audit...docx - reviewed and approved as Completed '''CP-ITI-1164''' for future ballot 52 (April)
 +
* CP-ITI-LF-PLTupdates.doc - accepted as '''CP-ITI-1165''', but not assigned to anyone at this time.  There is no 'owner' of the Patient Location Tracking profile, which has companies registered to test it, for the first time, at the Rennes Connectathon.  Lynn will talk to the implementors of PLT at the Connectathon to find out if they find it useful, and perhaps we can find an owner for this CP.
 +
 +
'''(2) Tarik's topics'''
 +
* The following was discussed and will become '''CP-ITI-1166''', assigned to Tarik:
 +
IUA references RFC 6750. This never made much sense to me. What would the alternative to the Bearer transport of the OAuth2 Token be? I now have a hunch that this was supposed to be RFC 7522 (https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc7522) instead. The option makes more sense if it allows interoperability between XUA and IUA by allowing clients to get a OAuth Access Code using a SAML Bearer Token.
 +
* The following was discussed and will become '''CP-ITI-1167''', assigned to Tarik:
 +
The topic came up in german national specifications using IHE XDS whether MTOM/XOP has to be used for all ITI-41 and ITI-43 transactions or whether the client decides. Vol2b states in 3.41.4.1.2 that "The Provide and Register Document Set-b Response message shall use SOAP 1.2 and MTOM with XOP encoding (labeled MTOM/XOP in this specification). Implementors of this transaction shall comply with all requirements described in: ITI TF-2x: Appendix V: Web Services for IHE Transactions." Vol2x Appendix V.3.6 states "Actors that create messages with xsi:base64Binary content may use XOP Optimization to reduce the size of the message. If there are multiple xsi:base64Binary content elements, the actor may optimize none, any or all of them at its discretion. Typically, small content will be left in the XML Infoset while larger content will be "optimized".
 +
ITI-43 also requires use of MTOM and XOP, but then includes an example without it, using the following explanation: "A second form of the response is possible, an un-optimized MTOM/XOP message. In this form the message is still formatted as a multipart but the document contents is not split out into a separate part of the multipart. Some popular Web Service toolkits generate this form for very small documents. The same response in this form looks like..." (3.43.5.1.2.1)
 +
There should be clear guidance whether the MTOM and XOP must be used in ITI-41 and -43.

* Reminder:  If you want a CP to be integrated into TF docs in June, then the CP should be reviewed and completed in March so it can be balloted in April.  There are openings on the Mar 21 and 28 agenda for Assigned CPs ready for review.

* '''CP-ITI-1021-05 - Clarify ITI-42 Expected Actions For Folders During RPLC/XFRM_RPLC  '''(Mauro & Ken)
 +
** Goal of the discussion:  Come to conclusion on how to handle SS-HM for FD-DE (and SS-HM for Relationship Assoc). This will determine the solution for how the related MU CP's are settled.
 +
** Affected text:
 +
*** '''Vol 3, Sec 4.2.2.2.3 RPLC, line 941'''  (This text will be unchanged by this CP, and will serve as the guide for updating transactions that are not in line) "When a DocumentEntry is replaced and that DocumentEntry is a member of one or more Folders, new FD-DE HasMember and SS-HM HasMember Associations shall be created by the receiving actor, connecting the replacement DocumentEntry to each Folder that held the original DocumentEntry as a member. The result is that a Folder contains both the original and replacement DocumentEntry differentiated by their availabilityStatus. "
 +
*** '''XDS [ITI-42] Register Doc Set, Vol 2b, Sec 3.42.4.1.3.5 Document Relationships''' - this section will be ''updated'' to add rqmts to align with Vol 3
 +
*** '''XDS [ITI-57] Update Doc Set, XDS-MU Suppl''' - this transaction will be ''updated'' to add rqmts to align with Vol 3
 +
*** '''XPID  [ITI-64] Notify Link Change''' is ''unchanged'' by this CP.  Text is already aligned with Vol 3 rqmts.
 +
*** '''RMU [ITI-92] Restricted Metadata''' is ''unchanged'' by this CP.  Text is already aligned with Vol 3 rqmts.
 +
** ''' Next Steps:''' Ken volunteered to create an updated version of CP 1021.  For review purposes, all related sections listed above will be included in the CP, whether they are changed or not.  This will enable ballot reviewers to see the requirements across these related sections.  This updated version will be reviewed on the Feb 21 CP call, and then the CP will be balloted to enable confirmation/feedback by the wider implementer community.

 +
* '''1155-02 - RMU: Correct Table 4.3.1-3 for size and hash attribute''' (Oliver) - there was some discussion on the inclusion of size & hash on the list of attributes that can be updated in RMU.  Though the origin of the CP was to remove the inconsistency between the text and the attribute table, the committee decided to resolve the inconsistence to remove the ability to update size/hash.  Oliver volunteered to update the rationale and write some additional text to clarify this.  CP remains assigned to Oliver who will bring an updated CP back to the committee for further review.

* '''CP-ITI-868-02 - DSUB - How to notify metadata updates''' (Mauro) - this CP was originally submitted by Forcare. Mauro presented his work to update the original rationale to make a proposal for how to resolve the CP.  The rationale captures the proposed approach and is not replicated in these notes; interested parties can read the details there. The CP remains assigned to Mauro for future edits.
 +
* '''CP-ITI-978-01 - MHD Documents encoding in XDW task output/input''' (Mauro / John) - Mauro presented these proposed changes.  The committee agreed that he should update the Rationale section to specifically address John Moehrke's concerns (in email) that the approach should be doc content agnostic.  This CP was approved as Completed and will be included in Ballot 51 to get specific feedback through the ballot process on the approach and the rationale.

* '''CP-ITI-MK-XDM-group-with-RAD-PDI.doc''' (Marc Kaemmerer, VISUS) - changes to the ITI TF to specify combining RAD PDI and ITI XDM media
 +
** This CP references changes this RAD domain CP: [ftp://ftp.ihe.net/Radiology/TF_Maintenance/2_Ready%20to%20Publish%20in%20Ballot/CP-RAD-408-CM-Best_practice_for_the_Grouping_of_PDI_with_XDM.docx CP-RAD-408].
 +
** This was reviewed and discussed.  The committee had some suggestions for adding small content to the CP to clarify expectations on import.  Marc will also update the diagram in the RAD CP to show  that PDI and XDM importer are grouped.
 +
** It is assigned to Marc as '''CP-ITI-1157'''.  When the identified updates are done, Marc will bring the updated CP to this group for final confirmation before ballot.

** there was discussion and general agreement that mCSD specification will probably be updated to clarify the requirements
 +
** the final resolution of this CP will be informed by mCSD testing at the 2019 Connectathon.

 +
** '''978-01 - MHD Document encoding in XDW task output/input''' - Mauro's changes were reviewed.  Small modifications were made.  Small changes will be added to Vol 1.  Some editorial work is needed on the CP to identify the changes that will be applied to the MHD TI supplement vs. Final Text XDW content.  Mauro will make these changes and bring them back for final review at a future call.  Then the CP will be ready for ballot.

'''(1) Assigned CPs Ready for Discussion'''  ftp://ftp.ihe.net/IT_Infrastructure/TF_Maintenance/CPs/1_Assigned/
 +
* '''1093 - XDSUnknownPatientId error should be allowed in ITI-18''' (John) - reviewed and initially confirmed as Completed during the call.  HOWEVER, after the call, Lynn went back to the ballot 47 comments on this CP.  THose are still unresolved in the version we reviewed today.  Lynn will add those comments into the CP rationale.  CP goes back to Assigned.
 +
* '''1131 - ATNA – Clarify ITI-19 rqmts for All Connections carrying Protected Information''' (Elliot S) - reviewed and seems Completed *but* Elliot suggests that this CP be bundled with other open CPs for ITI-19.  These are assigned to John and we hope to have attention on these in spring.  This CP (1131) should certainly be balloted before May because it updates current TF text that is now out-of-date because of the new ATNA options.
 +
* '''1087 - DEN and mimeTypeSufficient''' (John) - in John's absence, discussion on this is deferred to the Jan 3 call
 +
 +
'''(2) Process Incoming CPs'''  ftp://ftp.ihe.net/IT_Infrastructure/TF_Maintenance/CPs/0_Incoming/

* CP-ITI-SK-AssignedDeviceClasscode.doc - this is an error in the XCPD ITI-55 query; assigned to Elliot as CP-ITI-1153
 +
* CP-ITI-KM_RMU_Fix_Table_For_Size_And_Hash.doc - accepted as CP-ITI-1155.  Oliver volunteered to review and confirm Ken's proposed change.  If it is confirmed, then this CP can be marked Completed.
 +
* CP-ITI-LF-XCA-DocConsumerOptions.doc - assigned to Massi as CP-ITI-1156.  Lynn will send to Massi & cc Mauro
 +
* CP-ITI-LF-FixSectionNumberAS4supp.doc - editorial CP 1154 accepted as Completed and ready for future ballot 51

''' (3) Input on prioritization and categorization of MU/RMD CPs -- from Ken'''
 +
Last week when Mauro agreed to start working on some MU-related CPs, he asked about priorities.  Ken provided this detailed input to the committee:
 +
 +
<u>Group One - XDSb (needs a solution first)</u>:
 +
* 1021 - Clarify ITI-42 Expected Actions For Folders During RPLC/XFRM_RPLC  (XDSb)
 +
* 1071 - Clarify Replacement Associations (dependent on 1021) (XDSb)
 +
 +
<u>MU (and friends...that need XDSb resolved)</u>:
 +
* 1028 - MU-Add Requirements For Propagating SS-HM Associations
 +
* 1030 - MU-Clarify Requirements For Propagating Relationship Associations
 +
* 1029 - MU: Clarify Requirements for Association Submit/Update Operations (parts can be handled independently - have more notes from Bill)
 +
 +
* 982 - MU Trigger Documentation (fell into the RMU trap - documentation)
 +
* 1031 - Reconcile XPID and MU Requirements (concurrent effort .. was assuming that MU would have been also been re-documented. XPID should be cross-referenced with aforementioned CPs.
 +
 +
<u> Group Two (Small) </u>:
 +
* 751 - UUID Type Incorrect Use in UML diagrams (XDSb) - yes, title is wrong...attempt to clean up the use of UUID and symbolicId
 +
* 981 - Conflict in ID format when updating & changing status (better defining use of symbolic Ids in MU submissions) (MU)
 +
 +
<u>Documentation Efforts (Work Items)</u>:
 +
* 1072 - Update Vol 3 graphics associated with replace/transform... This was important for communication in order to have everyone on the same page.
 +
* 1044 - Update Vol. 1, and Vol 2 Appendices to reflect RMD and XDS-M
 +
 +

 +
* Notes from the discussion:
 +
** Mauro and Gregorio are working on the assigned CPs XDW and DSUB.  They should be ready for committee review by the end of the year.
 +
** Mauro said that he will be able to take on some of the work for metadata-update-related CPs.  He asked if there was an idea of which should be worked on first.  Ken has some detailed recommendations from previous work.  He has shared them with Lynn who will pass them on.
 +
** Several CPs that were reviewed for prioritization were deemed ready for committee review.  Those have been added to the [https://wiki.ihe.net/index.php/ITI_Change_Proposals_2018-19#Dec_20.2C_2018 Dec 20 CP agenda].

** We continued to add prioritization notes in the sheet linked above.

'''(3) Process Incoming CPs'''  ftp://ftp.ihe.net/IT_Infrastructure/TF_Maintenance/CPs/0_Incoming/
 +
* CP-ITI-xxx_RESTfulATNA.doc - accepted an Assigned to Oliver as CP-ITI-1152.  Edits to address the problem have been proposed and John says that this CP should be addressed in the revision that will also contain the FHIR R4 updates.
 +
* 3 more incoming CPs will be reviewed on the Dec 20 call.

'''(1) Prioritize Assigned CPs'''
 +
Work on prioritization started and will continue.    Effective identification of top priority issues requires offline work to open and examine CPs, which we only did a bit in this one hour call.  The committee continues to welcome input from the community to say ''This CP is important.''
 +
* See '''Prioritization''' tab in the [https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1gdr_Y8xZBvbb326J4z67cqprxOexFgtkPj_VlD3rB9E/edit#gid=0 ITI CP spreadsheet]
 +
* All Assigned CPs are here: ftp://ftp.ihe.net/IT_Infrastructure/TF_Maintenance/CPs/1_Assigned/
 +
* '''Determine prioritization method'''
 +
** Identify Top 10?? -- Yes.  This will be valuable input to focus the attention of the committee, but we are still dependent on people with time and the right expertise to resolve them.
 +
** Patient Safety Risk (Y/N) ?? -- there be dragons; decided not to add this.
 +
** Estimate effort to process?? - we could add this as we examine CPs as we go forward, but we did not take the time in this one-hour call to open each CP to assess this.
 +
** Add Severity (H/M/L) -like the previous bullet, this is something we could assess as we open CPs going forward
 +
** Other prioritization notes:
 +
*** For now, we did not prioritize CPs in the 'mobile' bundle.  Those CPs are being examined as part of the separate work effort to upgrade existing supplements to HL7 FHIR R4.
 +
*** For now, we factored out audit CPs.  Audit record definitions are replicated in the Gazelle Security Suite tool, but the status of the parallel in the IHE-E development team to updated those in a controlled manner is unknown.  Lynn will see that team at the January connectathon and re-engage about this.
 +
 +
'''(2) Next in CPs'''

* '''CP-ITI-1131 - ATNA Authenticate Node clarity''' (John)
 +
** The discussion generally confirmed the approach taken by John in the latest revision of this CP -- identifying  multiple options for Secure Node/Application actors to enable them to more accurately represent various levels of authentication support in the ITI-19 transaction.
 +
** There was some discussion about whether these options are needed on the ATNA ARR, Forwarder, and Consumer actors.  The current direction in this CP is to not add these options to those actors, but rather those actors would be grouped with a Secure Node or Application.  We may need to add some wording to clarify requirements for some special cases (ARR auditing).
 +
** We will not be rushing this CP to ballot.  John will create a next revision, with markup, and then we will schedule a review call, ensuring that key stakeholders are available so we can be confident of the contents of this CP before it is balloted.
 +
** There is hope that we can move forward with the 3 ATNA options that are currently in Ballot 49; they are not incompatible with the new options in this CP.  If the ballot 49 CPs pass, they will be included for testing at the Jan 2019 connectathon.  We resolve ballot 49 comments on those next week.

* '''CP-ITI-1131-01 - ATNA – Clarify ITI-19 rqmts for All Connections carrying Protected Information'''
 +
** Today's discussion confirmed the direction proposed at the very last week's call:  express all flavors of TLS support in ITI-19 as separate options on ATNA actors, including moving both current baseline requirements and physically-secured-network-only into separate named options.  ATNA actors would be required to declare support for one or more (ie there would no longer be 'baseline' rqmts for ITI-19').  The committee acknowledged that older IHE integration statements would not follow this model which would be potentially misleading.  That disadvantage is offset by the clarity that would come in the new integration statements, and by the expandability to add additional options in the future (eg TLS1.3) as technology evolves.
 +
** Next step:  John will update the CP to propose text that would introduce new options for ATNA actors representing 'existing functionality' in ITI-19, ie one option for products that are deployed on a physically secured network.  That CP will assume that the CPs with three other new ATNA options in current ballot 49 get approved on Sep 13.
 +
** Stay tuned.  If John's updates are ready, we will discuss them on Sep 6's CP call.

*** There is an error in the Doc Consumer audit message for ITI-51, which Dave will fix in this CP.  He will also evaluate to confirm that other audit messages don't need a similar fix
 +
*** We also uncovered an incorrect actor name in the audit section of some PDQ message (Patient Demographic Source vs Patient Demographics Supplier).

 +
* '''CP-ITI-1131-01 - ATNA – Clarify ITI-19 rqmts for All Connections carrying Protected Information''' (Elliot S)
 +
** Extensive discussion of how the baseline specification of the ITI-19 requirements are written, especially in light of the new ATNA options currently out for review in Ballot 49, especially...if a product supports the new TLS 1.2 Floor options, is it also compelled to be able to support the baseline requirements in ITI-19?  For the FQDN Validation of Server Certificate Option (CP 1094), we explicitly wrote than when an actor supports this option, it need not be capable of functioning without FQDN validation.  We did not write similar words in the TLS 1.2 Floor option in CP 1124.  A late suggestion in the call was to reformat ATNA so that the current baseline requirements would be moved into Option text, and then require ATNA actors to support one or more options.  Future integration statements would then be explicit about what is supported (though old ones would be open to interpretation).  We did not come to final resolution on this, and will continue the discussion at next week's call.

* CP-ITI-BM-AssocStatus.doc
 +
** Accepted as '''CP 1132''' and assigned to Dave V.
 +
* CP-ITI-BM-DuplicatingAssociations.doc
 +
** '''Rejected''' – Rationale:  We don’t say anything about this on the original submission (we think).  2. Elsewere, we don’t try to legislate against other inappropriate behavior in handling associations.
 +
* CP-ITI-BM-folderLastUpdateTime.doc
 +
** '''Rejected''' - Rationale:  current text for Folder.lastUpdateTime in Vol 3 Sec 4.2.3.4.6 readS:  “Most recent point in time that the Folder has been modified by changing which DocumentEntry objects are associated with the Folder, or by changing the Folder’s metadata attributes. If the folder has not been modified since creation, the lastUpdateTime contains the creation time.”  The committee believes that this text is adequate to cover the scenarios in this CP.

* CP-ITI-BM-DocReplaceFolder.doc

** Accepted as '''CP 1133'''.  Currently not Assigned to a committee member.  Next step is to schedule discussion of this CP at a future call when Bill can attend, since this is potentially a 'breaking change'.  Lynn to coordinate with Bill.

March 14, 2019

Attendees: Gregorio Canal (Arsenal.IT), Joe Lamy (Aegis/SSA), John Moehrke (ByLight), Lauren ten Hoor (Forcare/Philips), Spencer LaGesse (Epic), Tarik Idris (ICW), Lynn Felhofer

The ITI CP tracking spreadsheet is here.

(1) Incoming CPs ftp://ftp.ihe.net/IT_Infrastructure/TF_Maintenance/CPs/0_Incoming/

  • CP-ITI-Fix ITI 53 audit...docx - reviewed and approved as Completed CP-ITI-1164 for future ballot 52 (April)
  • CP-ITI-LF-PLTupdates.doc - accepted as CP-ITI-1165, but not assigned to anyone at this time. There is no 'owner' of the Patient Location Tracking profile, which has companies registered to test it, for the first time, at the Rennes Connectathon. Lynn will talk to the implementors of PLT at the Connectathon to find out if they find it useful, and perhaps we can find an owner for this CP.

(2) Tarik's topics

  • The following was discussed and will become CP-ITI-1166, assigned to Tarik:

IUA references RFC 6750. This never made much sense to me. What would the alternative to the Bearer transport of the OAuth2 Token be? I now have a hunch that this was supposed to be RFC 7522 (https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc7522) instead. The option makes more sense if it allows interoperability between XUA and IUA by allowing clients to get a OAuth Access Code using a SAML Bearer Token.

  • The following was discussed and will become CP-ITI-1167, assigned to Tarik:

The same response in this form looks like..." (3.43.5.1.2.1) There should be clear guidance whether the MTOM and XOP must be used in ITI-41 and -43.

(3) Next in CPs

  • Reminder: If you want a CP to be integrated into TF docs in June, then the CP should be reviewed and completed in March so it can be balloted in April. There are openings on the Mar 21 and 28 agenda for Assigned CPs ready for review.

    • Goal of the discussion: Come to conclusion on how to handle SS-HM for FD-DE (and SS-HM for Relationship Assoc). This will determine the solution for how the related MU CP's are settled.
    • Affected text:
      • Vol 3, Sec 4.2.2.2.3 RPLC, line 941 (This text will be unchanged by this CP, and will serve as the guide for updating transactions that are not in line) "When a DocumentEntry is replaced and that DocumentEntry is a member of one or more Folders, new FD-DE HasMember and SS-HM HasMember Associations shall be created by the receiving actor, connecting the replacement DocumentEntry to each Folder that held the original DocumentEntry as a member. The result is that a Folder contains both the original and replacement DocumentEntry differentiated by their availabilityStatus. "
      • XDS [ITI-42] Register Doc Set, Vol 2b, Sec 3.42.4.1.3.5 Document Relationships - this section will be updated to add rqmts to align with Vol 3
      • XDS [ITI-57] Update Doc Set, XDS-MU Suppl - this transaction will be updated to add rqmts to align with Vol 3

      • RMU [ITI-92] Restricted Metadata is unchanged by this CP. Text is already aligned with Vol 3 rqmts.
    • Next Steps: Ken volunteered to create an updated version of CP 1021.

  • Confirm recommended changes to XDM/PDI CPs (from last week's call) - Marc presented the updates since last week. The CP was approved as Completed. It will be included in Ballot 51. The RAD CP changes will be included in the CP Ballot for ease of reference
    • CP-ITI-1157-02 - Add Link to RAD TF - Best Practice for the Grouping of PDI with XDM (Marc)
    • CP-RAD-408-10 - Best Practice for the Grouping of PDI with XDM (Marc)
  • CP-ITI-868-02 - DSUB - How to notify metadata updates (Mauro) - this CP was originally submitted by Forcare. The rationale captures the proposed approach and is not replicated in these notes; interested parties can read the details there. The CP remains assigned to Mauro for future edits.
  • CP-ITI-978-01 - MHD Documents encoding in XDW task output/input (Mauro / John) - Mauro presented these proposed changes. The committee agreed that he should update the Rationale section to specifically address John Moehrke's concerns (in email) that the approach should be doc content agnostic. This CP was approved as Completed and will be included in Ballot 51 to get specific feedback through the ballot process on the approach and the rationale.

(2) Assigned CPs Ready for Review ftp://ftp.ihe.net/IT_Infrastructure/TF_Maintenance/CPs/1_Assigned/

  • CP-ITI-1096-00 - Require logical references be meaningfully supported in mCSD (Luke)
    • the origin of this CP was from mCSD test data for the 2018 Connectathon which contained logical references
    • there was discussion and general agreement that mCSD specification will probably be updated to clarify the requirements
    • the final resolution of this CP will be informed by mCSD testing at the 2019 Connectathon.
    • the proposed change currently in CP will probably be updated before it is balloted
  • CP-ITI-868-02 - DSUB - How to notify metadata updates (Mauro)
    • Mauro was unavailable for this call, so discussion of this CP is moved to Jan 17.

  • XDW CPs
    • 693-01 - Allow "addAttachment" as an Event Type in XDW - this CP was reviewed and updated. Updated version -02 is sent to Angeliki and Mark from Forcare (originator) of the CP for confirmation. If further discussion is needed, we will add it to a future agenda. If no discussion is needed, the CP can be put in the next ballot.
    • 978-01 - MHD Document encoding in XDW task output/input - Mauro's changes were reviewed.
    • 1054-01 - XDW: Datatype fix and update diagram - reviewed and version -02 is Completed and ready for future ballot 51
  • Other CPs
    • 868 - DSUB - How to notify metadata updates - this CP was originally submitted by Forcare. Mauro has done significant work to update the rationale to make a proposal for how to resolve the CP. (1) Assigned CPs Ready for Discussion ftp://ftp.ihe.net/IT_Infrastructure/TF_Maintenance/CPs/1_Assigned/

  • 1093 - XDSUnknownPatientId error should be allowed in ITI-18 (John) - reviewed and initially confirmed as Completed during the call. HOWEVER, after the call, Lynn went back to the ballot 47 comments on this CP. THose are still unresolved in the version we reviewed today. Lynn will add those comments into the CP rationale. CP goes back to Assigned.
  • 1131 - ATNA – Clarify ITI-19 rqmts for All Connections carrying Protected Information (Elliot S) - reviewed and seems Completed *but* Elliot suggests that this CP be bundled with other open CPs for ITI-19. These are assigned to John and we hope to have attention on these in spring. This CP (1131) should certainly be balloted before May because it updates current TF text that is now out-of-date because of the new ATNA options.
  • 1087 - DEN and mimeTypeSufficient (John) - in John's absence, discussion on this is deferred to the Jan 3 call

(2) Process Incoming CPs ftp://ftp.ihe.net/IT_Infrastructure/TF_Maintenance/CPs/0_Incoming/

  • CP-ITI-SK-AssignedDeviceClasscode.doc - this is an error in the XCPD ITI-55 query; assigned to Elliot as CP-ITI-1153
  • CP-ITI-KM_RMU_Fix_Table_For_Size_And_Hash.doc - accepted as CP-ITI-1155. Oliver volunteered to review and confirm Ken's proposed change. If it is confirmed, then this CP can be marked Completed.
  • CP-ITI-LF-XCA-DocConsumerOptions.doc - assigned to Massi as CP-ITI-1156. Lynn will send to Massi & cc Mauro
  • CP-ITI-LF-FixSectionNumberAS4supp.doc - editorial CP 1154 accepted as Completed and ready for future ballot 51

(3) Input on prioritization and categorization of MU/RMD CPs -- from Ken Last week when Mauro agreed to start working on some MU-related CPs, he asked about priorities. Ken provided this detailed input to the committee:

Group One - XDSb (needs a solution first):

  • 1021 - Clarify ITI-42 Expected Actions For Folders During RPLC/XFRM_RPLC (XDSb)
  • 1071 - Clarify Replacement Associations (dependent on 1021) (XDSb)

MU (and friends...that need XDSb resolved):

  • 1028 - MU-Add Requirements For Propagating SS-HM Associations
  • 1030 - MU-Clarify Requirements For Propagating Relationship Associations
  • 1029 - MU: Clarify Requirements for Association Submit/Update Operations (parts can be handled independently - have more notes from Bill)
  • 982 - MU Trigger Documentation (fell into the RMU trap - documentation)
  • 1031 - Reconcile XPID and MU Requirements (concurrent effort .. was assuming that MU would have been also been re-documented. XPID should be cross-referenced with aforementioned CPs.

Group Two (Small) :

  • 751 - UUID Type Incorrect Use in UML diagrams (XDSb) - yes, title is wrong...attempt to clean up the use of UUID and symbolicId
  • 981 - Conflict in ID format when updating & changing status (better defining use of symbolic Ids in MU submissions) (MU)

Documentation Efforts (Work Items):

  • 1072 - Update Vol 3 graphics associated with replace/transform... This was important for communication in order to have everyone on the same page.
  • 1044 - Update Vol. 1, and Vol 2 Appendices to reflect RMD and XDS-M

(1) Assigned CPs Ready for Review ftp://ftp.ihe.net/IT_Infrastructure/TF_Maintenance/CPs/1_Assigned/

  • CP-ITI-1086-02 - Clarify Max Length for CX Datatype (Ken) - This CP was reviewed and revised. Version -03 is Completed and ready for future Ballot 51
  • CP-ITI-1125 - Fix documentEntry.referenceIdList (Ken) - This CP was not originally on the agenda, but it was reviewed as part of the prioritization exercise, and revised. Version -02 is COmpleted and ready for future Ballot 51.

(2) Continue Prioritization of Assigned CPs

  • Refer to the Prioritization tab on the CP tracking sheet
  • Notes from the discussion:
    • Mauro and Gregorio are working on the assigned CPs XDW and DSUB. They should be ready for committee review by the end of the year.
    • Mauro said that he will be able to take on some of the work for metadata-update-related CPs. He asked if there was an idea of which should be worked on first. Ken has some detailed recommendations from previous work. He has shared them with Lynn who will pass them on.
    • Several CPs that were reviewed for prioritization were deemed ready for committee review. Those have been added to the Dec 20 CP agenda.
    • We continued to add prioritization notes in the sheet linked above.

(3) Process Incoming CPs ftp://ftp.ihe.net/IT_Infrastructure/TF_Maintenance/CPs/0_Incoming/

  • CP-ITI-xxx_RESTfulATNA.doc - accepted an Assigned to Oliver as CP-ITI-1152. Edits to address the problem have been proposed and John says that this CP should be addressed in the revision that will also contain the FHIR R4 updates.
  • 3 more incoming CPs will be reviewed on the Dec 20 call.

(4) Next in CPs

(1) Prioritize Assigned CPs Work on prioritization started and will continue. Effective identification of top priority issues requires offline work to open and examine CPs, which we only did a bit in this one hour call. The committee continues to welcome input from the community to say This CP is important.

  • See Prioritization tab in the ITI CP spreadsheet
  • All Assigned CPs are here: ftp://ftp.ihe.net/IT_Infrastructure/TF_Maintenance/CPs/1_Assigned/
  • Determine prioritization method
    • Identify Top 10?? -- Yes. This will be valuable input to focus the attention of the committee, but we are still dependent on people with time and the right expertise to resolve them.
    • Patient Safety Risk (Y/N) ?? -- there be dragons; decided not to add this.
    • Estimate effort to process?? - we could add this as we examine CPs as we go forward, but we did not take the time in this one-hour call to open each CP to assess this.
    • Add Severity (H/M/L) -like the previous bullet, this is something we could assess as we open CPs going forward
    • Other prioritization notes:
      • For now, we did not prioritize CPs in the 'mobile' bundle. Those CPs are being examined as part of the separate work effort to upgrade existing supplements to HL7 FHIR R4.
      • For now, we factored out audit CPs. Audit record definitions are replicated in the Gazelle Security Suite tool, but the status of the parallel in the IHE-E development team to updated those in a controlled manner is unknown. Lynn will see that team at the January connectathon and re-engage about this.

(2) Next in CPs

  • Dec 13 - continue prioritization + one assigned CP ready for review

(1) Assigned CPs for Discussion ftp://ftp.ihe.net/IT_Infrastructure/TF_Maintenance/CPs/1_Assigned/

  • CP-ITI-1131 - ATNA Authenticate Node clarity (John)
    • The discussion generally confirmed the approach taken by John in the latest revision of this CP -- identifying multiple options for Secure Node/Application actors to enable them to more accurately represent various levels of authentication support in the ITI-19 transaction.
    • There was some discussion about whether these options are needed on the ATNA ARR, Forwarder, and Consumer actors. The current direction in this CP is to not add these options to those actors, but rather those actors would be grouped with a Secure Node or Application. We may need to add some wording to clarify requirements for some special cases (ARR auditing).
    • We will not be rushing this CP to ballot. John will create a next revision, with markup, and then we will schedule a review call, ensuring that key stakeholders are available so we can be confident of the contents of this CP before it is balloted.
    • There is hope that we can move forward with the 3 ATNA options that are currently in Ballot 49; they are not incompatible with the new options in this CP. If the ballot 49 CPs pass, they will be included for testing at the Jan 2019 connectathon. We resolve ballot 49 comments on those next week.

(2) Assigned CPs for Discussion ftp://ftp.ihe.net/IT_Infrastructure/TF_Maintenance/CPs/1_Assigned/

  • CP-ITI-1131-01 - ATNA – Clarify ITI-19 rqmts for All Connections carrying Protected Information
    • Today's discussion confirmed the direction proposed at the very last week's call: express all flavors of TLS support in ITI-19 as separate options on ATNA actors, including moving both current baseline requirements and physically-secured-network-only into separate named options.
    • Next step: John will update the CP to propose text that would introduce new options for ATNA actors representing 'existing functionality' in ITI-19, ie one option for products that are deployed on a physically secured network. That CP will assume that the CPs with three other new ATNA options in current ballot 49 get approved on Sep 13.
    • Stay tuned. If John's updates are ready, we will discuss them on Sep 6's CP call.

  • CP-ITI-1129-00 - AlternateUserId inconsistency ITI-18 and ITI-51 (Dave V) - see also the CP-ITI-1129-NOTES.xls file in the Assigned directory
    • Dave presented his notes containing the analysis of use of AlternateUserId in the Source & Destination portions of the ATNA Audit messages.
      • There is an error in the Doc Consumer audit message for ITI-51, which Dave will fix in this CP. He will also evaluate to confirm that other audit messages don't need a similar fix
      • We also uncovered an incorrect actor name in the audit section of some PDQ message (Patient Demographic Source vs Patient Demographics Supplier).
  • CP-ITI-1131-01 - ATNA – Clarify ITI-19 rqmts for All Connections carrying Protected Information (Elliot S)
    • Extensive discussion of how the baseline specification of the ITI-19 requirements are written, especially in light of the new ATNA options currently out for review in Ballot 49, especially...if a product supports the new TLS 1.2 Floor options, is it also compelled to be able to support the baseline requirements in ITI-19? For the FQDN Validation of Server Certificate Option (CP 1094), we explicitly wrote than when an actor supports this option, it need not be capable of functioning without FQDN validation. We did not write similar words in the TLS 1.2 Floor option in CP 1124. A late suggestion in the call was to reformat ATNA so that the current baseline requirements would be moved into Option text, and then require ATNA actors to support one or more options. Future integration statements would then be explicit about what is supported (though old ones would be open to interpretation). We did not come to final resolution on this, and will continue the discussion at next week's call.

(2) Next in CPs

  • We will talk about CP 1131 again

Aug 16, 2018

Attendees: Dave Vaccaro (Xinonix), Elliott Lavy (N Harris Computer), Jiri Wildbret (Forcare), John Moehrke (ByLight), Oliver Egger (ahdis), Luke Duncan (IntraHealth), Elliot Silver (Change Healthcare), Lynn Felhofer

The ITI CP tracking spreadsheet is here.

(1) Review Incoming CPs ftp://ftp.ihe.net/IT_Infrastructure/TF_Maintenance/CPs/0_Incoming/

  • CP-ITI-BM-AssocStatus.doc
    • Accepted as CP 1132 and assigned to Dave V.
  • CP-ITI-BM-DuplicatingAssociations.doc
    • Rejected – Rationale: We don’t say anything about this on the original submission (we think). 2. Elsewere, we don’t try to legislate against other inappropriate behavior in handling associations.
  • CP-ITI-BM-folderLastUpdateTime.doc
    • Rejected - Rationale: current text for Folder.lastUpdateTime in Vol 3 Sec 4.2.3.4.6 readS: “Most recent point in time that the Folder has been modified by changing which DocumentEntry objects are associated with the Folder, or by changing the Folder’s metadata attributes. If the folder has not been modified since creation, the lastUpdateTime contains the creation time.” The committee believes that this text is adequate to cover the scenarios in this CP.
  • CP-ITI-BM-DocReplaceFolder.doc
    • Accepted as CP 1133. Currently not Assigned to a committee member. Next step is to schedule discussion of this CP at a future call when Bill can attend, since this is potentially a 'breaking change'. Lynn to coordinate with Bill.
  • CP-ITI-ESL_AuthorPersonRequired.doc
    • Accepted as CP 1134; assigned to Elliott Lavy. version -00 is Completed and ready for future ballot
  • CP-ITI-XUA-multipleAttributes.doc
    • Accepted as CP 1135; assigned to John Moehrke. version -00 is Completed and ready for future ballot
  • CP-ITI-KM-ATNA-Correct....CX Datatype.doc
    • Rejected – Rationale: the CX datatype used should be as it is defined in HL7 vs IHE CX (in Vol 3). The Patient ID as stored in the ARR should have the same constraints no matter what the origin of the audit message.
  • CP-ITI-JB-ITI-homeCommunityId-audit-fix.doc
    • Accepted as CP 1136 and assigned to Lynn.

(3) Next in CPs

(0) Welcome!

Jiri Wilbret and Angeliki Kritsotaki from Forcare joined us. We welcome them as regular participants in upcoming CP calls!

(1) Assigned CPs ftp://ftp.ihe.net/IT_Infrastructure/TF_Maintenance/CPs/1_Assigned/

Ready to discuss (Forcare):

  • 693 - XDW addAttachment - Forcare staff (Walco, Jiri, Angelika) will formulate a proposal for changes so that the scope can be assessed by ITI Tech at a future CP call. Forcare will seek review from Mauro & Gregorio as changes to the text are written.
  • 697 - PIXv3 Query errors - version -01 approved as Completed for future ballot 49

Get direction on these, or ballot them, or cancel them:

  • 1043-02 - Updates to ITI-18 to enable easier re-use by non-XDS actors (Lynn) - Lynn has proposed text to add a "Consumer" Role to ITI-18, and this CP in its current form shows how this would affect ITI-18 in Vol 2a, and in the XDS-MU and RMD TI Supplements. We discussed the potential benefits and pitfalls of this approach. There is precedent in using the Role construct (eg 'Content Sender' and 'Content Receiver' Roles were introduced in the refactoring of ITI-41 and 42). Next step: Ken volunteered to review the proposed changes to confirm the direction or suggest an alternative. If we proceed with this, the change would be targeted for docs published in 2019.
  • 1051-01 - Align BPPC Vol 1 with convention for Content Profiles & Grouping (Lynn) - discussion deferred to a future call

Propose to cancel (Forcare):

  • 683 - HPD Performance Considerations -- The committee agreed that this can be cancelled. Because Tarik has taken on recent HPD CPs, Lynn will confirm that he has no objection.

(2) Incoming CPs ftp://ftp.ihe.net/IT_Infrastructure/TF_Maintenance/CPs/0_Incoming/

  • CP-ITI-AlternateUserId-in-ITI-18andITI-51.doc - assigned to David Vaccaro as CP 1129
  • CP-ITI-ESL_U=NotSpecialized.doc - rejected as a duplicate of CP 1058 (to be integrated in 2018)

Out of time for these; deferred to a future call:

  • CP-ITI-JB-ITI-homeCommunityId-audit-fix.doc
  • CP-ITI-NPFSm_Wrong_actor in message semantics.docx
  • CP-ITI-TP-fixXDFinconsistency.doc
  • CP-ITI-DENupdatesToOldVol3.docx

May 31, 2018 - ATNA updates

Attendees: Bill Majurski (NIST), Elliott Lavy (N. Harris Computer), Ken Meyer (IBM Watson Health), Charles Parisot (GE Healthcare), Gregorio Canal & Mauro Zanardini (Arsenal.IT), Elliot Silver (Change Healthcare), Joe Lamy (Aegis/SSA), David Vaccaro (lifeIMAGE), Vassil Peytchev (Epic), Lynn Felhofer

(1) Prepare new ATNA Options for ballot ftp://ftp.ihe.net/IT_Infrastructure/TF_Maintenance/CPs/1_Assigned/

-- CP-1124-04 - ATNA: Add Option: Non-Downgrading BCP195 TLS Secure Transport Connection (Charles)'

  • The CP contains two options -- Downgrading and Non-downgrading BCP195
  • Charles walked through the new edits:
    • adding the options to the Audit Consumer as well as ARR, SA and SN
    • new option-specific sections in Vol 1, including the use case/rationale for picking one option vs the other, and a description of the behavior required for each option
    • Vol 2 text for the non-downgrading option was reviewed last week; created new section for the downgrading option. We worked on eliminating text that just duplicated BCP195 rqmts and focus on IHE constraints specific to the options.
    • This CP is approved for ballot pending Lynn's editorial fixes

-- CPs for Ballot 48

(2) Next in CPs

  • We are moving to the 2018-19 cycle. The wiki & CP spreadsheet are updated accordingly. The new CP home page for ITI is http://wiki.ihe.net/index.php/ITI_Change_Proposals_2018-19
  • Ballot 48 with new ATNA options will go out on Monday June 4
  • Next week we will process the backlog of Incoming CPs

May 24, 2018 - ATNA updates

Attendees: Rob Horn (honorable guest SME), Manuel Metz (ASIP Sante), Joe Lamy (SSA/Aegis), Gregorio Canal (Arsenal.IT), Elliott Lavy (N. Harris Computer), Elliot Silver (Change HC), Dave Vaccaro (lifeIMAGE), Vassil Peytchev (Epic), Lynn Felhofer

(1) Assigned CPs ftp://ftp.ihe.net/IT_Infrastructure/TF_Maintenance/CPs/1_Assigned

-- 1094 - ATNA: Add Option: Require server certificate domain name validation for all traffic over the public internet

-- 1124 - ATNA: Add Option: Non-Downgrading BCP195 TLS Secure Transport Connection

  • Discussion points:
    • packaging w/in the ATNA profile --
      • we decided to make two options in 1124: BCP and non-downgrading BCP -- enables individual profiles or deployments to require one or the other
      • ability to turn on/off these options at a deployment; need text w/in Vol 1 ATNA to explain this
      • because of the need to have two separate BCP195 options, we cannot combine all of these enhancements into one 'cyber' option. There can still be messaging associated w/ Connectathon packages these options together.
      • All options in 1094 and 1124 also apply to the Audit Consumer. Both CPs need to be updated to add the options to the Audit Consumer...this is an update to the "Add RESTful Query to ATNA" TI Supplement.
    • compatibility with legacy systems --
      • addressed by separating into two options and adding explanatory text about when to use these options
    • referencing BCP195 which is recommendation / current best practice
      • BCP195 will go through review/update using their normal process; IETF has historically been good at maintaining backward compatibility.
      • If we label the option with a date, it would 'freeze' the definition of this option to the published today
      • Toolkits will follow IETF revisions, reducing the risk of incompatibilities.
      • Thus we decided to remove reference to a specific version of BCP195. The Rationale of the CP will be updated to call this out as an item to comment on during CP Ballot.
    • Next steps for these CPs --
      • CP 1094 -- this CP is approved for Ballot pending Vassil's update to add this option to the Audit Consumer actor. There is no need for the committee to review of these updates prior to ballot.
      • CP 1124 -- this CP remains Assigned. The assignee is unclear. Lynn will send the CP as updated today to John and Charles. Edits needed: Finish updates to Vol 1, particularly addition of explanatory section. Add this option to the Audit Consumer. Review Vol 2a to see if splitting the option results in more text needed. See more detailed notes in version of -03 of this CP in the Assigned directory. If an updated version is ready in time, we will review it during next week's CP call.

(2) Close a few odds and ends from recent CP ballots

  • CP 709-06 from Ballot 47 - Accounting of Disclosures audit message
    • No votes were due to ASTM-2147 being 'withdrawn' status. Vassil confirmed that this ASTM E2147 was balloted for reinstatement in April 2018. Lynn will follow up via with those who commented on this CP.

(3) Next in CPs

  • Thurs May 31, 10-11am CDT -- If updates to CP 1124 are ready, we will review them. Else we will process the backlog of Incoming CPs.

May 10, 2018 - ATNA updates

Attendees: Ben Levy (Corepoint Health), Vassil Peytchev (Epic), Dave Vaccaro (lifeIMAGE), Elliot Silver (Change Healthcare), Elliott Lavy (N. Harris Computer), Gregorio Canal (Arsenal.IT), Neil Robinson (U.K.), Charles Parisot (GE Healthcare), Joe Lamy (SSA/Aegis), Lynn Felhofer

(1) Assigned CPs ftp://ftp.ihe.net/IT_Infrastructure/TF_Maintenance/CPs/1_Assigned

  • 1094 - ATNA: Add Option: Require server certificate domain name validation for all traffic over the public internet --
    • This CP was discussed and refined. Some technical details related to the new option were moved to ITI-19 in Vol 2a.
    • Version 1094-04 is in the Assigned directory and contains updates from this call. It is expected to be reviewed and refined via email in the coming days.
    • Target is for final review on the May 24 call to approve it for Ballot
  • 1124 - ATNA: Add Option: Non-Downgrading BCP195 TLS Secure Transport Connection --
    • This CP was discussed and refined.
    • There was discussion about BCP195 containing *recommendations** that will change over time, introducing incompatibilities. So, the committees decided to refer to a specific version of the BCP (May 2015).
    • Version 1124-02 is in the Assigned directory and contains updates from this call. It is expected to be reviewed and refined via email in the coming days.
    • As with the prior CP, some details were moved to Vol 2a, but
  • As part of the upcoming review, it is likely that the changes in the two above CPs will be combined to represent one update to ATNA, probably as one combined option, but this is TBD. Input on this is welcome.

(2) Incoming CPs ftp://ftp.ihe.net/IT_Infrastructure/TF_Maintenance/CPs/0_Incoming/

  • discussion deferred

(3) Next in CPs

  • Tue May 15 - Ballot 47 comments due
  • Thu May 17 - Ballot 47 comment resolution (2 hour call 10am-noon CDT)
  • Thu May 24 - ATNA cyber update continued (2 hour call 10am-noon CDT)
