(1) Consultation on a couple of updates to the XDS-MU Supplement to be published in 2017

• The committee gave guidance on updates to text to solve a couple of CP integration mysteries in preparing the updates to the XDS-MU Supplement for publication in late July.

• Ballot 43 - Lynn will be compiling and sending out Ballot 43 next week. This will be the first ballot of the next publication cycle.
• Transition to 2017-18 CP & publication cycle - Lynn will be working on the infrastructure to start a new CP publication cycle (updates to FTP site, wiki, CP tracking sheet), There will be an email sent to ititech with details with that work is done.

  • Regular CP call participants admitted that their time to work on CPs in the near-term is limited, so there was no momentum in one specific area to be able to target a call on one ttechnical area. We considered canceling some of the upcoming calls, but the consensus was to keep the one-hour-per week CP calls to keep momentum. Lynn will seek agenda items prior to each call.

(1) Next steps for XDS Metadata Model -- Initial Discussion and Scope (Ken & Bill) (30 min)

• Problem statement: When ITI Tech attempts to address individual Vol 2 and 3 CPs regarding the metadata model and document relationships, we have been struggling to resolve them and maintain consistency across TF documentation due to lack of a consistent view among TC members and in the documentation itself of use cases. Vol 1 documentation of the document relationship model is spread across the XDS Vol 1 sub-sections and in Appx K.
• Bill & Ken propose to extract relevant Vol 1 material so that it can be reviewed and discussed with the goal of ensuring Vol 1 material accurately presents the model and use cases.
• Tentative schedule:
  • For the next 1-2 week, Ken & Bill will work together to extract, review and provisionally update Vol 1 material that applis to the XDS metadata model, document relationships...
  • They will then send that material to the ititech email list to seek TC member review in preparation for a discussion at the July F2F.
  • Co-chairs & Ken/Bill assess the input and determine how much time can be allocated to this during the F2F.
  • Discuss during the July F2F.
• After the July F2F, we will have a better consensus & general understanding. Then, the existing Vol 2/3 content & open CPs can be examined in the light of the understanding gained in the discussion of Vol 1.

• We also spent time revising DocumentEntry.sourcePatientInfo in Vol 3 to be published in August to resolve overlapping Final Text CPs 997 and 787. Bravo!

  • Some discussion on this CP including a lot of questions. Attendees questioned whether this was really helpful, did it go far enough, feels weird to put an actor in XDS which would only be useful for other profiles.
  • Discussion ended with the thought that instead of adding a new actor it might be better to make it easier to add actors to the ITI-18 transaction. Noticed that this CP included adding the Actor Roles table to ITI-18, which would be the approach for making it easier to add actors to a transaction. So, it was the opinion of the attendees that this CP should be used to improve ITI-18 by adding the Actor Roles table which would make it easier to add new actors to the transaction, therefore making it easier for new profiles to use this transaction. (ie perhaps the initially-suggested changes to XDS are not necessary)
  • We did not discuss having someone assigned to work on it but felt the next step should be a follow-on discussion when Lynn is present.

(1) Finalize CP 1018 (Remove ITI-62 from XDS Metadata Update TI Supplement) from CP Ballot 40

• The committee reviewed 1018-05 and an interim version of XDS-MU w/ RMD-associated updates (Ver05) -- both of those documents are in this directory: ftp://ftp.ihe.net/IT_Infrastructure/iheitiyr15-2017-2018/Technical_Cmte/Workitems/RemoveMetadataAndDocuments/F2F-Apr_2017
• Ken will update CP 1018 will be updated with a few items identified in the call. Elliott Lavy will continue integrating CPs into XDS-MU to create version that will be republished this year.

(2) Discuss alternatives for publishing RMD and XDS-MU (together / separate)

• The committee discussed several alternatives for making the changes to the XDS-MU-TI Supplement associated with 1018/RMD visible to the implementer community. We considered re-balloting CP-1018 containing a detailed summary of deltas to XDS-MU. We decided to:
  • Complete updates to CP-1018 so it accurately reflects/describes updates to XDS-MU due to RMD. (Ken)
  • Complete final (final!!) updates to RMD (Ken & ITI TC)
  • Ask Mary whether RMD can be published for TI along with all of the Final Text Volumes at TI Suppls that are updated by CPs this cycle. Those will be published on ihe.net at the end of July (Lynn)
  • If Mary says, yes, dot all of the "i"s and cross all of the "t"s with regard to publication steps (Lynn)
  • Coordinate an announcement to the implementer community that explains RMD and XDS-MU as they will be published this year. (Lynn)

(3) Next step for MU CPs

• Elliott Lavy (hero volunteer and editor extraordinaire) agreed to produce a change-tracked version of the XDS MU TI supplement that starts with XDS MU Rev 1.8 published in Sep-2016. He will apply all CPs in ballot 37 ***including the changes agreed to in 765 (the CP to be re-balloted). This has three immediate benefits:
  • This produces a Word version with CP updates applied for the benefit of implementers for the Jan connectathon. Absent this, it is extremely difficult for implementers (or anyone) to start with the Final Text TF, apply the changes described in the MU Supplement v1.8, and then account for the deltas in the Final Text CPs from Ballot 37.
  • It get multiple implementers eyes on an interim version of the MU Supplement with changes inline to see if it is implementable and to determine whether we missed anything that can be CP'ed before we officially republish this later in 2017.
  • This version with changes integrated will be supplemental material to ITI-CP-765 when it is re-balloted.

* Lynn will create new CP-ITI-979 to account for the need to update Vol 3 Sec 4.1.4 to 4.1.5 within the MU Supplement, and update references as necessary.  This needed change was identified as a ballot 37 comment.  It will be an 'instant final text' CP because it is editorial, and this change will be part of Elliott's updates (previous bullet)

  • CP-ITI-KM_MU_Asynchronous_Support.doc - accepted as CP 964 assigned to Ken, but scope was changed; we will not add async option to Doc Admin, but we will add a note to clarify the scope of transactions that must be supported, eg if a Registry supports async & MU, it does not have to support async on MU transactions. This CP will be moved out of the MU effort and discussed next on Sep 27

(4) Next in CPs

• The Tues Sep 27 CP call has been repurposed to finish MU work. The regular CP agenda that was supposed to be covered in that call needs to be rescheduled for later in Oct. We will reschedule that call on Tues.
• CP Ballot 36 comments will be resolved at during our Oct 7 CP call. See below.

• CP-ITI-ELS-Add-OnDemand-to-FindDocumentsByRefId.doc - accepted as CP 955; status is Completed
• CP-ITI-ELS-IsSnapshotOf-redoc.doc - accepted and assigned to Elliott L as CP 956. Elliott agreed to finish proposed changes to the text based on today's discussion. The scope of this CP is also expanded to include the request for an informative UML diagram (other submitted CP below). Lynn will ask Sylvie if she can produce a diagram to accompany the improvements in text proposed by Elliot S and Elliott L.
• CP-ITI-ELS-More-immutable-submission-set.doc - accepted as CP 957; status is Completed
• CP-ITI-ESL_Effects_of_Merge_on_Relationship_Associates.doc - accepted as CP 958; status is Completed

  • dedicate two CP calls in Sept to resolving 6 assigned MU CPs
    • Lynn will create a doodle poll to pick new dates. The regularly schedule Sept dates are problematic (Sept 2 - right before Labor Day weekend; Sept 15 - Lynn on vacation). Doodle poll will go out to key MU stakeholders (if you want to participate, send Lynn an email). Once the dates are set, the invitation to the calls will go out to ITI Tech to invite participation from all
  • MU CPs in scope for Sept discussion:
    • 559 - MPQ profile queries vs Metadata Update option - assigned to Bill
    • 756 - MPQ fixes to ensure Metadata Update compatibility - assigned to Walco

(1) Revisit one Completed CP ftp://ftp.ihe.net/IT_Infrastructure/TF_Maintenance/CPs/2_Completed/

• CP-ITI-756-03 - MPQ fixes to ensure Metadata Update compatibility
  • Comment from Ken M: While I agree with Bill's comments for the need to add the additional parameter and text, I don't agree that $AssociationStatus is valid parameter for either of these two queries.
  • Outcome 1: This CP was pulled back from "Completed" to "Assigned". Bill asked for a Use Case for adding MU capability to the MPQ query. There was no use case in the CP, just a request for the technical change. Lynn will follow up with the XDS implementors list to see whether one can be identified. Else this CP will Cancelled. Version -04 is placed back into the Assigned directory on the ftp site with these notes.
  • Outcome 2: CP-ITI-559 (MPQ profile queries vs MU option) passed ballot 29 and was about to be integrated into the 2016 revision of the MU supplement this conflict was discovered with CP-ITI-756, sot was set back to Assigned. When a response is received on the XDS implementer's list, we will have direction on these two CPs.

• CP-ITI-621 - Metadata Update and Deprecated Folders (Ken & Bill) - Cancel this CP. Cancellation rationale: Based on the OASIS standard rule that Registries shall ignore parameters they do not understand, the provisions of CP are not needed. version -02 is stored in ftp://ftp.ihe.net/IT_Infrastructure/TF_Maintenance/CPs/6_Cancelled/
• CP-ITI-923-01 - Redoc aggressive validation specification (Ken M) - this CP remains assigned to Ken. He will continue work based on today's discussion.

(3) Review of new Incoming CPs ftp://ftp.ihe.net/IT_Infrastructure/TF_Maintenance/CPs/0_Incoming/

• CP-ITI-KM_MU_AddMetadataParamFindSubmissionSets.doc - reviewed and discussed with attendees. Ken agreed to withdraw this CP (at least for now).
• CP-ITI-TI-Clarify_Folger_lastUpdateTime.doc - Accepted and assigned to Tarik as CP-ITI-949. Input from Elliot S and from attendees on the call is added to the rationale for the CP.
• CP-ITI-KM-External-Identifiers-Cleanup-Redundant-Text.doc - Ken is withdrawing this incoming CP. The changes are related to CP-ITI-923, and he will include these changes in that CP
• These two CPs are for editorial changes to FT Volumes that have not yet gone to Mary. Lynn will make "instant FT" CPs out of these so this can get fixed in the 2016 TF Vol 2b and 3 (not yet submitted to Mary). CPs stored in ftp://ftp.ihe.net/IT_Infrastructure/TF_Maintenance-2016/CPs/3_FinalText/
